I have to give homage to Kevin Ledbetter who demised some years ago. He was a great drummer and cool guy. I think he wore himself out trying to do so much. I can relate...the music business can wear us down without time for self and proper assistance and support. Rest well brother.

Mr Marcus Miller moving into my top spot for bass. Has the top spot for humility and class; what a tribute to a 'Top Notch' well connected musician. My introduction to Mr Benson his cover of 'Masquerade,' my 14 yo go to piano favorite and at the time deepest writer in my collection, Leon Russell. Leon's opus a little spacey intro then falls into the heart of the matter. Four years later, my introduction to scatting, and the inimitable jazz guitar of George Benson. My ABB affinity for long improvisational jams was taking me down the inevitable road to Jazz. Eventually Mr Benson and Mr Miller would have my divided attention as studying was the objective. 'Lights Out San Diego,' hosted by Art Good, commonly became the subject. An archive of quality time; thanks to all on stage.

Glad this came across my feed. George Benson, one of the greats - especially his personality. He's for real whenever I see him interviewed. I had to take a break from work to watch and listen. Oh yes.

George Benson is a legend. Imagine if he didn't hold back from looking for popularity and fame since he's a Jehovah's Witness. He would be 10X as famous and popular. Great musician and person. Humble and passionate is what I see.

Poor Joey D. Believed all the BS, spraying off keyboards and doorknobs, was the only one wearing a mask and probably got all the boosters he could get later on. Died 2 years later. Heart attack at 51. Suddenly and “unexpected”.

My wife and I saw his performance in the 90s in Santa Rosa Calif. We are Jehovah's Witnesses and were happy to meet him after the concert. My wife (who has since died) asked him how he was doing spiritually, George said it was hard to keep his spiritual life clean as a well known musician (or words to that effect). But he keeps trying.
