The issue could be your Blower fan motor Resistor or the blower motor itself. The blower motor fuse in fused within the Junction Box and it's not replaceable as far as I know. You can see the fuse in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/enm7Z32on72kr9Esi=h1Njc0VGxjzY6ETH

@bimmerhacksАй бұрын
Check when it's overheating if the water pump is engaging or not. If no then try disconnecting the friction wheel cable as shown in the video. If this is the case the problem could be the coolant temperature sensor which is located behind the engine or the oil temperature sensor which is located on the oil filter housing

I am not sure about this, but first try swapping the Camshaft sensors from exhaust and intake. And see if the error code switches. If not then timing chain issue is what I assume, in that case change the timing chain with sprockets

I am not sure about that. First check for any burn smell from the fuel pump. If nothing then only go for EKP. Probably the fuel pump might have burnt off due to the age.

This is very helpful. Is both crank seal oil leak and exhaust oil leak FIXED after this?
@bimmerhacksАй бұрын
Exhaust oil leak completely stopped. Front Crank seal I still doubt as there seem to be oil vapour - by the way I did not change the crank seal yet after the valve cover change. Before that the crank seal was literally leaking oil

@TheALPHAMALE5028 I tried PCV change when I had crank seal heavy leak+ engine overheating. That fixed the engine overheating, then the oil leak remained but less than before. Good luck and please update me. Oil consumption and low coolant is the main issue with this engine

@finkenf10Ай бұрын
@@bimmerhacksbut you’re not messing with anything mechanical. Makes no sense to disconnect the battery. You won’t have to do a relearn when you replace the battery in the car so you shouldn’t have to disconnect the battery to change this gasket.

@finkenf10 I will not take a risk and won't suggest as well, I had a bad experience when I gave my car for a valve cover gasket change. Just had this issue on my 116i. Had already replaced the cracked intake pipe (which fell apart as I removed it 😮), then the code reappeared a few days later accelerating on to a motorway. What was your oil consumption and is it improved after this fix? My N13 is consuming 1l each 2500, but the valve cover is already replaced about 30k km ago. Exhaust is very dirty/black so I expect valve seals is the problem.

Haloooo! I watched your video about N13B16 engine temperature sensor. It was extremely helpful to me. Also you've reassured me that my car is the most horrible BMW I've ever owned (my 7th BMW). Maybe I've been lucky🤔? I have no choice, I must attempt to replace the sensor (with the offending o-ring myself). I googled and researched. It worries me. Is it really difficult for someone with limited experience? I have all necessary tools, I'm a machinist with 38 years experience. But I'm terrified I'll end up failing the job and being stuck with no transport 😲. All the faults I've had with this horrible car seem to be identical to everything I see on various forums and KZbin. 60,000 miles and the car is nearly dead!🤬 Basically, when I do the repair, is there any major mistake that I should be aware of? I'd be really grateful if you can find the time to reply 🙏!
@bimmerhacks2 ай бұрын
Don't be terrified. If you're referring to coolant temperature sensor, if you can get it out from the narrow space it will be much easier to put it back. Timing chain is an easy job, if you have black smoke then you need to do a valve seal change which is a horrible job if you don't have the proper narrow valve spring remover tool - lever type. If there is anything else you are asking about please let me know. Coolant leak can also be from the turbo side as the turbo gets red hot the o-ring fails premature so replace with high temperature O-ring only which is the dark brown one
