Why did you keep turning the vacuum back on over and over also why leave it on so long the plastic would have cooled and no longer been able to mold anymore literally after just seconds so this whole video was actually pretty stupid.🤷♂️

Hey there! Built a similar set up and wondering: 1. How thick was your ABS ..&.. 2. How long did you heat it (or) what temp did you get it to? Incredible work my man!
@cuustomfireguy2 ай бұрын
abs and first 4 sheets were 3/16 last 4 sheets 1/4.. the 1/4 was difficult to heat and the detail wasn't as good...

Would that work on plastic snowmobile plastics ?
@cuustomfireguy4 ай бұрын
ABS plastic tends to get pretty brittle in the cold.. I've been researching more flexible compounds.. but yes the vacuum mold can make alot of parts.. the smaller they are the more difficult it becomes..

What temp is your sheet heated to in that oven? Just curious!
@cuustomfireguy Жыл бұрын
we only went by how soft it was. and how far down it drooped . we didn't take a temp. if we let it go any longer the plastic would of started to burn because it was drooped so much . it was 12 inches from flames

Nicely done! A tip for next time: just use the shopvac that can create the strongest vacuum; when you add more shopvacs in parallel all that accomplishes is sucking faster, not harder. Once the air is mostly gone from under the plastic, those extra (weaker) shopvacs essentially just become leaks for the strongest shopvac and will prevent it from being able to pull the strongest vacuum it can as air will be pulled in backwards through the weaker shopvacs.

@@cuustomfireguy Thanks for that, I really appreciate it. May I ask, did you ever use your system on a clear plastic / perspex ? Like, for a window. And if so, did it leave marks on the transparancy? Thanks again.
