I disagree with the person who commented 12 years ago, I think this is a wonderful song.

I think everyone’s comments here about this tune said it all…a brilliant masterpiece! Steve M., the drummer, like a helicopter, takes the band up into the sky along with sounds of the other band members… ultimately cutting the cord of the glider that Holdsworth is piloting to then soar to new heights on the thermal waves in the final guitar solo improvisation. It’s mesmerizing.

My favorite song from one of my top Desert Island albums. Such a great recording and great original material! (Well, except for the borrowed Lewis Carrol part - but excellently orated!)

Groups like Return to Forever and Weather Report were truly the first supergroups. Every member of those groups were virtuosos in their discipline and all were genius composers of music. Nothing comes close to the jazz fusion of the 70s. A truly unique time period of jazz. RIP Chick Corea, Joe Zawinul, Jaco Pastorius, Wayne Shorter, et. al. Your music made the world a better place. 🎹🎸🎷

I remember actually being physically , mentally an spiritually exhausted after hearing this track for the first time. I've listened to this whole album over 500 times at least. This album is a musical GOAT. It's theory should be part of any contemporary music🎼🎹 curriculum . RIP Chick...

Been listening to this since I was 12 years old and it blew my mind, especially since Stanley Clarke is my cousin and Return to Forever is the best group ever, why does everyone keep comparing frank zappa to this music...smh!!!

IKARI, MOERU IKARI* KIRAWARETEIRU HATESHINAI TATAKAI Tired from the war is the warrior's heart The wind keeps still, it whispers words somewhere far This moment brings tears into his tormented eyes Memories of home, the reason why he joined the fight Winter has been winning this battle since it's first day Fear's already friend, it keeps me raising up my blade All this time I've fought for everything that has meaning I've had my share of grief, so many deaths I'm forced to see In my heart I've sheltered everything I need To walk through this blood rain, even if it's me who bleeds No wasted years behind - this war could never be over Being still alive makes me feel dead cold inside IKARI KANASHIMI IKARI [Solo: Pepe, Jouni, Mika] In my heart I've sheltered everything I need To walk through this blood rain, even if it's me who bleeds No wasted years behind - this war could never be over Being still alive makes me feel dead cold inside In my heart I've sheltered everything I need To walk through this blood rain, even if it's me who bleeds No wasted years behind - this war will last forever If alive I feel dead cold inside

Mm hmm. What's also cool, is when Mories sounds eviler than everything else. I feel like this mess here, with the Count Chocula church organ, is the most evil-sounding out of his evil messes.
