thank you! i havent read notes or decifered the articulation in their value since 1990 butt, you opened it back up for me. your rythmically wrong. you show 3 notes in a 4 bar and neglect the space. the rythem in the notes in the bar is important to know unless your on your back porch and no one cares other than the cyotie and the moon. a dotted eighth note is a punch not a full bar.

I had no idea that string instruments used horse hair. You'd think synthetic strings would always be better, no? Because it's not like horses grow their hair to be used for this, while with synthetic strings you can specifically engineer them to be as optimal as possible. Whatever optimal means in this case, I don't know. lol

Hey there CD! Im about to watch yr latest recorded live stream. But I have a burning question for you, which others may share and you 5:08 may be able to.address on a future stream?. Im a diligent practicer, love my cello, cant wait to get hold of it every day and get to work....but theres something going on which bugs me like crazy! My corrections just wont stick! Its infuriating! I play things slowly, get them better, speed them up a bit..repeat the process the next day..but then the same places keep going wrong as the days go by. Especially shifts, and double especially shifts that involve the fingers having to leave the key board completely. As the week goes on i feel like i SHOULD be able to play it so i dont go back to square one..and mistakes appear..and before long, Ive got absolutely nowhere!!! Any thoughts, Id greatly appreciate!!!!

So, I've watched many of the masters play this piece, and the collection of suites. I've noticed, that in their younger years, many tended to play it more slowly. And in later recordings, after they were established, I began to notice an uptick in tempo. My question to you is, do you interpret the cello suites as a dance, or as more of a melancholic collection? My ear prefers it slow, but one master said that she understand the suites for what they were and tried to play it more to what she thought Bach was trying to purport rather than her own perspective on the piece. Specifically the 5th Prelude, but this piece you've played here is the same situation I feel. Thoughts? (EDIT) Those last two notes, oh if only I could play two strings at once and play clear and resonant notes! Well done!

Intonation is great, but watch out for shoulder tension when you’re doing the fast notes, you get very stiff.
