It basically is! It's a sealed 602 crate with very strict build guidelines. Also the timing wasn't set yet, was just happy that it started and ran the first time.

Is the carb jetted for E85? I’m hoping so but not good to run 110 thru it if it’s E85 carb . But vise versa as well.
@ClayNationRacing
@ClayNationRacing Ай бұрын
Yeah it's the carb I got with the 602 from Dustin Bunch, built for E85. And yeah that's why I was using the 110 sparingly just to prime it. But I've got more E85 now to prime it with.

Get your self an inspection mirror from HF to look in there. And under the fuel line theres a nut. Generally a line would screw right into a pipe or nipple. If theres another nut then its mught be the nut to hold the lid down. Just keep loosening stuff. Youll get it

Motor mounts: did you get new motor mounts to adjust for the motor? Can't mess up the thread when they're brand new and matched to the motor. They got to be positioned in the right place on the chassis. Also, if you're putting in a motor that's not specifically for that vehicle then you might have to weld on support to move the motor mounts if little adjustments don't work.

I agree that the 602 would make a good engine for that class. I looked at the rules for Tazwell, 411 and Bullsgap and none of them allow the 602 for the Classic car class, I am not sure why you are upset with anyone?
@ClayNationRacing

Because, as I said in the video, we need more options. 305ci engines are becoming hard to find and more expensive to build. Hell all motors are but the 305 is such a niche motor that it only exists in this one class so there's no resale value at all. 350ci engines are a dime a dozen (compared to a built 305) and enormous aftermarket and resale due to its common use in multiple classes. So yeah, I was asked to try the motor out in the class instead of building a 305. And it turns out that it's pretty comparable but limiting due to lower redline and peak horsepower. So despite me not having a clear advantage whatsoever and still being a middle-pack car, they went out of their way to DQ me and have me removed from the track. Again, it's their choice. Hot Rod wants to run the class into the ground in order to maintain his illusion of power over people then he can have it. Rather than a protracted fight, I am moving on.

when you get rid of all the cars, there arent any cars left to put on a race. That class will no longer have a place to race.

It's painful making that last lap. Me and my dad build our Super Street from the ground up. My deployments became more frequent, and the economy didn't allow for him to keep our construction business, so we parked it. When he died, I couldn't afford to keep her. But we raced once, and we won.

I'm the guinea pig for convincing all the teams (and the tracks) that we can expand the engine rule and make it work. Our cousins up in PA/MD run 305 and 350s together successfully.

Strongly disagree. While it was fun seeing the Supers go insanely fast on the old set-up, very rarely was the track ever "racey", and it definitely was prone to huge, costly, wrecks for all classes.

volunteerspeedway.com/driver-info/rules/ Section 80 covers us. The short of it though is we use a GM "metric" chassis from the late 70s/early 80s era (Monte Carlos, El Camino, Buick Skylark, etc) with 305 CI engines, 2bbl carb, TH350 automatic transmission. Body is fiberglass. 2500 lbs minimum weight.
