Totally disagree. Captain Checkdown gave virtually nothing to the Vikings while greedily raking in almost $200 million dollars. And for what? One playoff win and constant flops in nationally televised games. He's a mediocre QB, not a consistent winner, and greedy. Good riddance.

He's also got 4 years in the league now and becoming more injury prone as his body accumulates damage and ages. Plus he had a bit of an attitude last season and hasn't guaranteed he will be resigning with the Vikings. Its time to turn the page already. Especially with a new quarterback, might as well commit to the rebuild

Minnesota can trade JJ for multiple 1st round picks and draft a receiver with one of them. Plus save 50 mill in cap space. They can try to sign him but if he doesn't sign an extension they won't have a choice, they will have to trade him
