I had a model S. I used it for what it was designed for, short range local destinations only. Unfortunately it developed technical issues twice and altogether cost me over 6 grand. I got rid of it for 10 grand. Besides my electric bill dropping back down along with my insurance premiums as well, I still had hopes that the model S would be an improvement for guys like me who are serious long-range, long distance travelers and who prefer large full size luxury automobiles. This is the 2026 model S? It has very little improvements. It's wheelbase is still smaller than my jaguar XJL, has longer downtimes than my Jaguar XJL and eventhough its range is slightly improved to 405 miles, it still doesn't even come close to the 570 miles of range provided by my XJL. And don't let Tesla fool you. They say environmentally safe? They produce a great deal of carbons when in production. Battery production and the mining of lithium and other battery components produce a great deal of carbons not to mention the abusive cheap child labor and women who work with very little to no safety equipment to bare handedly pic up cobal which is toxic, and hand in to be shipped so you can have an EV. The estimated price of the 2026 Model S will be all but $100 grand or more. Unfortunately according to Car edge, the existing model S depreciates by, 21 grand in it's first year, 30 grand in it's second year and so on. Boy i really had the greatest of hope that Tesla would greatly improve the model S or atleast come out with a really great long range travel car for guys like me. How disappointing. But paid off at 41 grand, much larger, 2.5 to 3.5 minutes of fueling for a range of 570 miles and has less technical complexity and a dashboard that has style and class and not some plain Jane dashboard that looks like a 2by4 with a screen in the middle, and more than a pleasure to drive, I'll just keep my large full size luxurious Jaguar XJL and simply leave more than well enough alone.....
