Is it a self extracting crank arm?
@vin17flores72

You need to remove the tip of the crank remover tool and try again. You have obviously tried removing the crank arm without removing the tip which is obviously by the marks on the internal thread of the arm has just pressed them off

A CYCLUS crank arm repair kit would fix this with no problems at all.

A pulley puller could help in this situation as well.

You should use a 8mm or 10mm socket insted of the allen key. And then use a 3 jaw puller.

Now how do you fix the threads of the crank arm so that you don't have to throw it away? I'm going to try doing thing with a ratchet extension and a rubber mallet.

The head on the crank puller you used is too large, you can see where it was driving into the edges of the square hole in the crank. You need a square taper crank puller, or the park tool with a smaller drive disc.

I hate those old square bottom brackets. I had so many problems with crank arms coming loose. Good thing we're two generations past those and the current generation has been around about 20 years. Good riddance to bad design.

Better than what I would’ve done which is cut into the arm and try to split it with a hammer and chisel.

Imagine just being able to smack that crank arm off with a rubber mallet. Stuffing that Allen key in the end of the threaded area of that spindle is going to mess the threads up even more. Take it to a shop if you don’t know what you are doing. It’s clear you were not using the crank puller correctly by the marks you left. You shouldn’t recommend people be doing stuff like this. It’s bad advise even if you were able to get the am off.

I used an angle grinder, taking care not to grind too much of the spline. I cut straight across, and diagonally up from under the arm, around the 3 accessible sides. Your way sounds easier for those who can prop their hex wrench.
