I think I forgot about it. Having the existing pawns move sideways would have been way better than having even more pawns. "Conscription is a weak card" is one of those heuristics that can let you down if you aren't careful!

Yeah, I really think I'm underestimating the hologram and the handful of other "cheat death" perks on the higher ranks. It's not just the fact that there are more pieces or they have more hp; they really do seem to coordinate better to checkmate you, so having outs is often more useful than a marginal perk of some kind.

Hmm, that's a good question. It started on November 4, but the app doesn't track the date of starts/stops, and I don't remember exactly what day it ended. Around 2 weeks, I think? We have a Europe/NA time zone split, so I think we're a little slower than most groups.

Am I reading this right? You're proposing that Gangwon's entire gameplan was to mess with the card choices of the person.... sitting directly before him in a four player game? What in tarnation!

@@AJ-pn9dm It sounds weird. On the other hand, if PB's analysis is accuracy, then this is a 2000-game veteran doing absolutely stupid things, which is also really weird.

I remember making that comment and wanting to edit it out, but then I thought, "Eh, it's not like anyone's *actually* going to watch the whole thing," so I was lazy and didn't look for it and left it in ... and now I've been asked the question I was dreading. 😅 I'm just going to be totally transparent here and fess up to something I'm really not proud of. For whatever reason, this game ended a lot sooner than the other 4p game, and the trio of 3p games started before that game finished. Then, Gangwon went afk, using up 2 of his 3 days of reserve time (which is highly unusual and no one had done anything like that before). I...assumed without any evidence whatsoever that his reason for doing so was that he was annoyed he lost and decided to drop out of the tournament. Two of my friends are also in the tournament and both of them had someone run out their clock and turn into a robot in their first 4p game, which means that they play only one 3p game instead of three (because by the rules, if you turn into a robot in any game, you're removed from the group for all subsequent games). In my case, though, Gangwon dropping out was extra annoying because he waited until after the 3p games had started, which meant I'd have to play two whole extra games with a robot. Except...he didn't actually drop out. There were server issues that apparently prevented some people from making moves for a while. Once that was fixed he hopped in and continued playing as normal. Literally right after I recorded this video. 😮‍💨 At the end of the recording, I ranted about that, but thankfully he came back in time for me to edit that rant out (you can easily see a jump cut right near the end). So all that is by way of saying...I wish I had been less rough on both Gangwon and Schedar in this video, but especially Gangwon. It's something I'm going to work on in the remaining videos, but for this one, all I can do is own up to my bad judgement-and apologize to Gangwon on the off-chance he actually watches this, because he didn't deserve any of the unkindness he received in this video.

@@TheMouseMasterYT I suspect there is a level of inaccuracy in my analysis, because despite their weird play, neither Gangwon nor Schedar got beaten *that* hard, and both of them are competitive in the other game. It's a "proof in the pudding" kind of situation for me, because if I think someone's playing badly but they're beating me or coming close, then at some point I have to acknowledge that they aren't actually playing badly! That said, the turn 1 4:37 Rich Land is absolutely 100% incontrovertibly a blunder, and a 2000-game vet making that blunder is truly strange. The extent to which the rest of my constructively critical commentary is accurate is up to better players than me to decide. :)

@@papaboris8665 Eh. Your comment about Gangwon early on came across as mild to me, and I just assumed you meant how he gifted points to Sakic at the end. Which would annoy me as well, so it didn't bother me. As far as criticizing your opponent's plays, that also didn't bother me and I found it amusing. Perhaps you can tone down comments that may be perceived as saltiness or as attacks on a person's overall skill level in future videos, but ripping people's objectively poor choices is both funny AND educational. Don't be too hard on yourself.

I figured out the issue-it's definitely OBS. If I simply put the MP4 made by OBS and process it in Camtasia, then the sound is fine. So I'll do that for these longer videos, but for Shotgun King, I'm afraid it'll still be the way it is, since it would be too much of a hassle to reprocess all those short videos. When I have time I will do some troubleshooting to see if I can figure out why OBS is doing that / how to make it stop!

@@AJ-pn9dm Okay, I just checked again, and I can hear that other videos are louder. So whereas mine still sound "fine" to me at a volume of 20 on my computer, maybe on other devices, they wouldn't sound fine until closer to 100. I'll check to see if there's a way to increase the volume, since it is a little strange that OBS is putting out quieter videos for me than what other people are getting from their software.
