@@davindersingh-mm6bk there is no direct work/PR visa pathways for ship engineers. You can try as a general mechanical engineer professional if holding 4 years degree in engineering.

Hi, you need work visa to be able to secure any shore job. Only master COC can apply direct work visa as of now

Hello sir,I was planning to do marine surveyor course in australia as my wife is working as a nurse there in brisbane.So with partner visa i can enroll in to course for the same right?For me work visa it is not necessary right? I am having 2nd mate COC with me and currently sailing as a 2nd mate.As i am currently onboard i couldnt research much but your videos are really helping.Thank you.

Any visa with full working rights will work, most of the partners visa have full work rights if primary visa applicant has that.

Immigration just reduced age requirement post study work visa now from 50 to 35. That means, you need to be 35 years old or below when you apply for work visa after 2 years of full time study on a student visa. A major set back to many applicants.

If you already hold junior officer or engineer COC then give chief mate exams and oral from Australia and study one year more in relevant shipping diploma to be eligible for 3 years work visa. Now work visa age requirements after student visa is 35, a recent change. For 3 years work visa, you need to live and work in Regional cities (except sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane).

Master COC is a enough to become a marine surveyor and get accreditation of few surveys like FSI.
