I hate that James Swearingen is still being used as a middle school performance music... it's garbage. Especially for students who are talented enough to play stronger and more difficult pieces. The only good thing about this is intonation and making players listen around. Low brass should play out more and be more dominant

I played the snare solo. Back in 1995! Great song, as a kids i always felt privileged to play this. Great elementary memories.

Wow. Brings me chills everytime, I played it in the sixth grade whice was 9 years ago. Time flies, I should play the clarinet more often.. Enjoy your band time, it's limited and it's precious!

There not getting ahead of the conductor, in band there are 4 notes per measure, and not all instruments have the same thing. no matter what they have 4 notes in the measure, like sometimes someone CAN play just the 4 notes but other times 1 note in the measure can count as 4 beats for like trumpets!
