That's good because sheet music of any kind is not fun for me so being as an incredible musician I simply can't or you can but I won't. An awesome thing like this school or even Julliard to cancel out of my path.

Because this is a non-professional production I am reluctant to criticize but the erratic tempi the conductor is indulging in doesn't bode well. Let's leave it at that.

I did want to hear the Elvira and if she is not in the Schwarzkopf or Jurinac class ( very few are) God knows I have heard far worse--and in professional productions.

Steven Mayer, what an incredibly awesome pianist! He is just amazing! Just a terrific pianist and also a great teacher! I've had the pleasure of taking a few lessons with this man; he is terrific! A very approachable man and very kind and supportive as well! Glad to see a video about him!

Is the conductor afraid he's gonna miss the last bus home? Why so fast in the Commendatore's final confrontation? He's conducting it as if it were a Gilbert & Sullivan patter-song.

what's wrong with a new suggestion of interpretation, which btw is consistent with mozart's style in those years (and later, the Dies Irae)? the very slow, slow, quite slow, and a little faster tempos are so abundant in recordings! from furtwangler to klemperer, through all the other wonderfuls, who knows if mozart himself didnt conduct in this tempo ?

I would have liked to be in the hall, since the audio engineering seems to fall a little short. That said, this is a powerful and energetic performance of a difficult piece. Dr. Sailer captains her forces, drawing us through spume and spray to a well paced finale that left me glad for for having watched this. I particularly liked the soprano's beautiful, rounded tones. No fault to be found here, and kudos to all!

I'm hearing some fine points of the music in this performance that I don't recall hearing before, and I have listened to every recording there is. It's especially wonderful to see young people performing so well. The chorus is especially clear.
