Is this a gen 2
@PaulNurse13 ай бұрын
@user-lt9tx6ob8n It is the 2nd Gen Video Doorbell. If you ask because have one and you want to set it up with a new router but can't find the QR code on the back of the device, as instructed by the Ring website, I had the same issue, no QR code on mine. I had to call Ring customer services and they enabled it. Took 2 minutes.

Hi, Paul great video. I would like to create this stereo. Do you perhaps have an electric schedule? I would like to make this without the battery's and replace it with a transfo. Thanks in advance.
@PaulNurse19 ай бұрын
Hi, unfortunately, I never made a schematic of the electrics, only what you can see in Part 2 I think. I have since upgraded my electronics to a Wondom amplifier with thier funcional cables pack. My power supply is now from a laptop style power brick. I no longer use the battery pack. Good luck with the build. It is very satisfying to play your music through a self built speaker.

Hi Paul, great videos! They will definitely help me as I make this. The part which I am not clear on is around the BMS and charging. Do you have a schematic / description for how that is wired together (bats + BMS + power to system + charge socket)? Thanks a lot

If you people bought the old version of the doorbell 2, DO NOT USE THE PHILLIP SCREWS TO INSTALL.. This version is fast and easy for a thief. Go to hardware and buy security screws to mount it.. The one at the bottom can be easily removed with a small flat head.

Excuse me. Can you tell me is it necessary to grounded it. Because i cant found where to make it.My remote control inside its not 100% the same.
@PaulNurse14 жыл бұрын
The antenna outer shield will need to be connected to a ground on the controller circuit board unfortunately. You could solder a small insulated wire from the antenna shield to the battery negative where it is soldered to the circuit board.

Following up from my last, do any of you have any suggestions for an 'upgrade' from the Visuo? I'm less interested in video and photo's and lean towards something more sporty 'line of sight' and on the cheap! Thanks in advance. Rich.

Why are the antennas you use the two transmitters?
@TuMundoAndroideMania4 жыл бұрын
Help me I have two antennas but one is a transmitter and the other is a receiver. Do you think it works or do I need the two to be a transmitter? Another question you think I do with that two doesn't matter how I do? 🙄🙄🙄

Very nice job. I consider this as an upgrade to DIYperks version. Good job adding a BMS and removing the need of protected battery cells as well as providing a better way to charge the batteries. However, what I'm wondering is, isn't this too heavy to be considered a portable device. What is the weight ? And if it is too heavy are the batteries really needed ?
@PaulNurse14 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback. Yes I added the extra features And I made it slightly bigger than the DIYperks version as I wanted a challenge and to broaden my knowledge. Yes you are correct it is very heavy possibly close to 20 kg so not portable at all. I don’t think even the lighter DIYperks version could be considered portable in the true sense of the word only in the fact that it is battery-powered. Mine has the batteries removed now they are being used on other projects and I’m powering it with an old laptop power supply.

hey, I'm planning on making this but I cant find the battery banks. Do you think you could provide me with a link to where you found them?
@PaulNurse14 жыл бұрын
black flame : Hi, I can’t share the link from my AliExpress app but go to AliExpress.com and search ‘Battery Bank 18650’, there are a lot of listings for these around £0.88 each. I just priced 6 up at £9.28 delivered, assuming you are in the UK. You may find them on eBay too. Good luck with your build

@@PaulNurse1 Another question. In your build, you had used a dc jack to charge your batteries. How did you connect it And how long do the batteries last?
@jamesgrimm27294 жыл бұрын
Hey Paul, this video really helped me, but when I finished all the wiring the speakers were extremely soft. Furthermore, when I adjusted the volume with the potentiometer instead of adjusting the volume it just changed the sound from one speaker to the other. I believe it was a mistake in wiring the poteniometer but I don't know what to do. Do you have any explanation?
@PaulNurse14 жыл бұрын
James Grimm : Hi, that’s a headscratcher for sure. Have you used the same components as in my build as I can’t imagine a wiring scenario that would replicate this issue in the potentiometer that I used. My potentiometer is an on/off and volume and has no functionality for balance control. Is it possible you are using a balance control potentiometer instead of a volume control.
@justgorby3 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem. It all cleared up when I connected the two "ground" pins of the potentiometer with a v. short wire. I thought the two ground pins were connected within the potentiometer but they were not. If you have the potentiometer sitting on a table in front of you with the volume adjustment knob facing up and the pins facing towards you the pin on the left of each gang (set of three pins) is the "ground" or neutral. The other two pins in the top set are the "in" from the BT module and the "out" to the AMP for one side speaker. The lower gang is for the other side. The "ground" or neutral wire comes from the BT module and makes a connection to BOTH "ground" pins and to the "ground in" on the AMP. The bottom two pins on the potentiometer are of course for switching off the whole system when you turn the nob all the way down.

My downstairs neighbours need to walk passed my door to access their garden. Do the motion notifications get annoying?
@PaulNurse14 жыл бұрын
hughesie27 Motion alerts can be set on a timer if you don’t want to be disturbed or even muted. I do get a lot of alerts but I don’t mind them as I know nothing has been missed and I rarely go to the recording unless I have reason to. Most alerts are me coming and going.

This is great thank you, it really cleared up a lot of problems I had with the DYI Perks video.
@jamesgrimm27294 жыл бұрын
But how did you make so the potentiometer was also a switch, did you wire the power input through the bottom two prongs, if so does it matter which is positive and which is negative?
@PaulNurse14 жыл бұрын
Hi, Thank you for the feedback. I hope this helps so yes the potentiometer I used had a built-in switch on the bottom two contacts. I used this to switch the negative from the battery power supply to the BMS which when off completely eliminated any power draw.
@jamesgrimm27294 жыл бұрын
Paul Nurse, just to be sure. You soldered the negative wire from the battery supply to the first contact of the potentiometer and then went from the other contact to the amp/transformer?
@jamesgrimm27294 жыл бұрын
So when the switch is off, it stops the power draw.
@PaulNurse14 жыл бұрын
Almost correct. The negative wire would normally go from the battery pack to the BMS (battery management circuit board) but I routed it through the switch so there would be no current draw when off. The amplifier takes its power from the BMS so if you put the switch wire on the BMS to the amplifier wire there would be a current drain at the BMS.

Hi Paul, great video,i have seen your antenna mod videos,was the 250 metre flight using the visuo controller or flying via your phone and wifi,just bought one of these quads,will be doing a few mods to it
@PaulNurse14 жыл бұрын
Hi, yes I was flying using my phone and it was just reaching the limits of its Wi-Fi range. I’m unsure how much further I would have had control using the controller but of course it’s out of sight by then. The mods to this great little drone are so cheap and easy to do I would encourage anyone to do it. Have fun and thanks for commenting.

Very good videos... I lost my VISUO XS809S BATTLES SHARKS .. I was flying to high and it was blown by the wind.. :) . I still have a controller. my question is if I buy another drone, will my old controler also bind with new drone? . thank You for answer. keep on the good work
@subnet61714 жыл бұрын
My guess would be yes it should bind. I had two defective Snaptain drones fly away on me and both times the company sent me a new drone and transmitter. I now have 3 transmitters and they all bind and work with the 1 drone.

Hi Paul. Try running the large drill bit in reverse next time. You won't get an issue with the bit binding and grabbing. Great Mod, thanks for the help.

Thanks Paul. I watched the videos on the antenna mods and I'm really impressed with the improved range of both the Controller and the FPV. I'm sure there isn't any other quad in this price area with this kind of range and battery life. I have a Hubsan Zino for beautiful video but I want to get a Battle Shark just to tear around the place and have some fun. I'm not satisfied with the 100m range so I'll definitely be doing the controller mod first up when I get a Battle Shark. You've explained everything really well so thanks for sharing!
