The danger with nearly ALL CULTS including Steven Anderson and the New IFB as well as the Hebrew Roots Movement is that they never rightly divide and always try to label themselves as Israel. Dispensationalism is such an important truth. Dispensationalists know the difference between the Church and Israel. And ultimately, the Law was meant as a foreshadowing of what would come (Hebrews 10:1--14). Jesus is the one who forgives all our sins. Even under the Law, nobody was saved by law-keeping. Nobody was saved by works. EVER. Romans 4:1-8 is clear that salvation has always been by faith alone by believing in either the promise of God OR the finished work of Jesus Christ. Right division is key. The Church is NOT Israel but ultimately, God is the one who saves us.

Steven Anderson has done some good for Christ; he has allowed many people to get saved BUT his ministry also turns people away from God. As you said, his behavior can be pretty ugly at times. I’ve always had a great deal of respect for pastor Anderson. I believe he’s right on the gospel of Jesus Christ. He changed my position from pre trib to post trib. However I do feel he needs to step down. Even if his kids are lying it’s a reflection of things going on in his house. I don’t always agree with how he goes about things. He needs to swallow his pride and step down.

Steven Anderson, in ten years of my listening to his preaching, has never once condoned wife abuse in any form whatsoever. This is stunning to me and has shaken me. I always thought to look for his clear preaching on difficult biblical topics which continues to anchor me to this day.
