Oh, so you're citing Snelling's rigged experiment? Cute. Let’s break down why that’s a steaming pile of garbage. K-Ar dating measures argon, NOT age. K-Ar dating doesn't "read" a rock’s age like a magic scanner-it measures argon-40 and uses the known half-life of potassium-40 (1.25 billion years) to estimate time. A 50-year-old rock hasn’t had enough time to accumulate measurable Ar-40, making K-Ar completely useless for young rocks. Snelling knew this, but he deliberately misused the method to get a garbage result. Young volcanic rocks trap excess argon. Fresh lava doesn’t start with zero argon-it traps extra argon (Ar-40) from the magma it came from. This means that when you date new lava with K-Ar, it will always appear falsely old. Geologists know this and don't use K-Ar for young rocks for this exact reason. But Snelling, the "geologist," conveniently ignored this to manufacture an error. No real scientist uses K-Ar on recent lava. This isn’t some deep dark secret-geologists are well aware that K-Ar is unreliable for young samples. Snelling ignored these valid methods because they wouldn’t give him the "wrong" answer he wanted. That’s deception, not science. If Snelling’s experiment was valid, why didn’t he publish it in a real journal? Oh, right-because any competent scientist would rip it to shreds. Instead, he put it in creationist propaganda outlets, where peer review is non-existent, and his audience isn’t allowed to question what they’re told. That’s not science. That’s ideological fraud. If radiometric dating were unreliable, why do independent methods all agree? K-Ar, Ar-Ar, U-Pb, Rb-Sr, and even tree rings and ice cores all match up with expected geological timelines. Why does every real geologist trust radiometric dating? Because it works. If it didn’t, modern geology, paleontology, and even astronomy would fall apart. Why do young earth creationists need to rig experiments if their claims are true? If the evidence for a young Earth were so strong, why do people like Snelling have to misuse scientific methods, cherry-pick results, and hide from real peer review? If your argument is based on deliberate deception, maybe it's time to rethink it. If you have to lie about how radiometric dating works to make your point, then maybe your point was never valid to begin with.

As an apatheist, Kent Hovind makes some good points, I don’t think we’ll ever know the answer. It’s hard to believe that scientists just know the Earth is a couple billion years. Yet if you question it, you’re just called stupid and uneducated. I just find it hard to believe that scientists just know the universe is 13.5 billion years old. It’s also kind of weird how humans are the only species to be this intelligent, no other species has had the influence that we’ve had. A lot of these things are still speculative, we will probably never know the answer, it’s hard to believe anyone.

The belief in a general creator (I myself believe in a creative force) as a purely philosophical position is perfectly valid. As soon as you get down to specifics however (specific books, holy men, dates, commandments etc), you must provide evidence and I'm afraid as far as all organised religions go, there is no evidence for these things.

1. Your rock analogy doesn't work because we understand how rocks are formed and what signs can point to human interraction/natural occurances. We don't have that same level of knowledge about how the universe started. 2. Big bang wasn't the creation of the universe just its expansion and if you want to claim that it was god then you have to prove it not just assert it because no other option is present. 3. So essentially the fine tuning argument. Unless you can show that the constants and forces of the universe can vary there isn't any reason to assume they had to be fine tuned. You would also have to show that the sun, moon, etc were made with us in mind otherwise your just assuming the universe was made for us when so much of the universe would instantly kill us. Even on earth a large part of it is ocean and the remaining land can be hostile to humans. 4. Dna isn't information its a molecule it being analogous to information doesn't mean it is. 5. To my knowledge this is just the argument that abiogenesis is impossible. The Yuri miller experiment shows that the building blocks of life could possibly be formed during the conditions of Earth at the time. But ignoring that what you find more probable doesn't matter unless you provide evidence that life comes from god. 6. "Humans have a drive for meaning" "Because of god." You haven't proven that only asserted it. The universe is indifferent to us so it doesn't provide us objective meaning. Humans do find different things in life valuable even if the universe doesn't seem to care. When you call this meaning make believe you are essentially arguing that unless meaning is objective it doesn't exist which is an assertion. 7. Morality is subjetive. The only "absolutes" are things that the majority of the population don't like. Your Hitler example doesn't disprove subjective morality only that you don't like it. You not like morality being subjective doesn't mean it isn't. Regarding your made right comment. Who says something has to be made right? This is again just you not liking subjective morality so its false. 8. This argument only makes sense if you thing biochemical reaction means simple. What is preventing the various ways love can be shown by humans (gifts, weddings, sacrifice) from being a chemical reaction? Love can be a great motivator for people and so it would be a beneficial trait for survival. 9. "Everybody here knows" empty assertions again. You then attempt the moral argument again so just see my point 7. 10. "We were designed to obtain life after death." Assertion yet again. It's not surprising to me that religions would try and answer what happens after death because it can be a heartbreaking thing. So it is preferable to think that your loved ones are in some nice place that you can see them again rather then them being lost forever. You then go on to basically repeat why religions would be so interested in life after death at 4:55.

Can a religious person please answer this for me. 1. Rural Chinese Man - Some Christian beliefs say that God judges people based on what they know. If someone never hears of Jesus, they might not be condemned the same way as someone who knowingly rejects Him. Others argue that God can reveal Himself in ways beyond traditional preaching. 2. Born & Raised Muslims - Statistically, most people follow the religion they were raised in. If God wants everyone to believe in Christianity but allows cultural and religious barriers to make it nearly impossible for some, it raises questions about fairness. Some argue free will plays a role, while others see it as a flaw in the system. Free will alone doesn’t help much in those cases because beliefs are heavily shaped by upbringing, culture, and access to information. If someone is born into a strict religious environment or an isolated region, their “choice” is extremely limited. If God truly wants everyone to find Him, yet allows circumstances that make it nearly impossible for billions, it raises a contradiction-either God isn’t making Himself equally accessible, or He doesn’t judge people solely on belief but on intent, morality, or something else. There are a few verses that suggest God judges people based on their hearts and what they know rather than simply on whether they’ve heard of Jesus. Here are some commonly cited ones: 1. Romans 2:14-16 - Paul talks about Gentiles (non-Jews) who don’t have the Law but still follow moral principles, saying their conscience may act as a law for them. This implies that people who don’t know about God might still be judged fairly based on their actions and intentions. 2. Acts 17:30 - “In the past, God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.” Some interpret this as God being more lenient toward those who are unaware of Him. 3. John 9:41 - Jesus says, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your sin remains.” This is sometimes used to argue that those who are truly unaware of God aren’t held accountable in the same way as those who reject Him knowingly. 4. 1 Samuel 16:7 - “The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” This suggests that God judges people beyond just their external beliefs. However, other verses (like John 14:6, which says, “No one comes to the Father except through me”) make it sound like explicit belief in Jesus is required. This contradiction is why there’s so much debate among Christians about what happens to those who never hear about Jesus. Yeah, that’s one of the biggest criticisms of religious doctrine-if salvation is the most important thing, why wouldn’t God make it absolutely clear and consistent in the Bible? Instead, we get vague or seemingly contradictory passages that require interpretation, leading to thousands of denominations and debates. If God is all-powerful and wants everyone to believe, He could have made the message unmistakable and accessible to all cultures, rather than allowing ambiguity, human error, and historical influence to shape religious belief. This is one of the main reasons many people struggle with faith-it doesn’t seem as clear-cut as an all-knowing God could have made it.
@jj205917 сағат бұрын
We believe that God’s judgment is always fair and perfectly just, taking into account what each person knows and the circumstances they’re in. While Jesus is the only way to salvation (*John 14:6*), we know that God judges those who haven’t heard of Him based on how they respond to the truth they do know-whether through their conscience, their actions, or the recognition of God in creation (*Romans 2:14-16; Psalm 19:1-4*). God desires everyone to come to Him (*2 Peter 3:9*) and places people in circumstances where they have the opportunity to seek Him (*Acts 17:26-27*). For those who haven’t heard the Gospel, God’s grace and mercy are sufficient to ensure they are judged righteously, according to their hearts and their response to the light they’ve been given (*1 Samuel 16:7; John 9:41*). We don’t see the ambiguity in Scripture as a flaw, but as a reflection of God’s desire for genuine faith and relationships, not forced belief. His ways are higher than ours (*Isaiah 55:8-9*), and we trust that He will always act with justice and mercy. This is why we are committed to sharing the Gospel with the world, while trusting in God’s ability to reach those who may not yet know Him in ways that are beyond our understanding.

But how do you know it was the Christian God that created everything? Maybe it was more than one god. Maybe it was an advanced alien civilization.
@brushfireКүн бұрын
The majority of world religions you can find evidence for that debunks or contradicts itself. The bigger religions, such as Islam, steal from Jesus but deny His deity. So you can rule out most other “gods” right off the bat. It loops around back to Jesus. The evidence of history, archaeology, moral truths, observable universal laws, personal testimony, fulfillment of prophecy through Jesus’ life, death & resurrection, preservation of scripture, proof of miracles and supernatural occurrences lead me to conclude that Christianity is true. Suggesting it was all an alien civilization would take us right back to the question, well who created the aliens? There is not reasonable evidence for that claim. There is reasonable evidence for Christianity being true.
@Kristalman831Күн бұрын
Firstly, that was not the topic of the video, the video just gave evidences that point to the idea of a divine being, not specifically the Christian God. Secondly, I just want to point out the idea you gave of an "advanced alien species" creating the universe is not just physically impossible, but it does not solve the paradox of the creation chain, unless your idea is that the "aliens" are divine beings that do not rely on neither a physical body nor time, this idea leads you to nowhere. And for your second idea of the existence of multiple gods I want to say that it's not that I can refute it, but its simply the fact that if multiple gods do exist (for an example, the hindu religion, that do believe in multiple gods), then it would be more likely that hinduism would have the upper hand for the scientific events in their original theology, or basically any events that have a connection to the hindu religion, which is simply not true, because Christianity has the upper hand, the ressurection of Jesus christ is the most documented event in history, among many other events/miracles that happend along the years (like the miracle of the sun, or the lady of Guadalupe, or the lady of zeitoun, which I would recommend you to check on google, because they are indeed very fascinating), so I would argue that if a God exists, and if he indeed created us, he did it for a purpose, and not just to leave us here and never contact us.

OSAS Hebrews 6:18. ..It is impossible for god to lie. 3 verses in the Bible say your name can be blotted out of the book of life, for 3 various reasons; Psalm 69:28, revelation 3:5, 22:19! Never receiving Jesus is not the only way to go to hell Says Matthew 7:21-23 ; verse 23 ‘away from me I never knew you’ does not apply to everybody, Jesus says this twice in verses 21 and 22! “Not everyone will say to me (on that day)……., yes many will say…..” If OSAS was true he would’ve said “everyone and all” instead of “not everyone and Many”! So not everyone will go to hell based on never knowing Jesus, and other verses will back this up as well! you can no longer use Matthew 7:23 to say they were never saved to begin with! Same with 2 Peter 2 “after knowing the Lord, they went back into their vomit as a dog; or back into the mud as a pig wallowing in the mud”. The word ‘knowing’ is the same word “knew” in Matthew 7:23, it’s ‘ginosko’ in the Greek- it’s a salvific relationship with Jesus! So you can lose your salvation, says this verse as well! 2 Peter 2:20 “If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning!” THEY ARE ENTANGLED IN THE CORRUPTION OF THE WORLD…AGAIN- says this verse! Jude 12 - “twice dead”; Dead in sin, born again, dead again! And there’s many more; Revelation chapters 2 & 3 are full of ultimatums and all Jesus is focused on is our works! Revelation 2: 5 Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place! Revelation 2:14 there are some among you….. 16 Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. These are just 2 and Jesus says “he who overcomes” , Overcomes is present active- future tense, and Jesus says this to all 7 churches, even the 2 good ones! You have to stay faithful to the end of your life to go to heaven! John 3:16 is he who believes, or continues to believe will have eternal life! it doesn’t say ‘believed’ past tense, you have to maintain your faith to go to heaven! The Greek word ‘believes’ is ‘Pistis’ which basically means faithfulness so faith equals faithfulness, according to the Bible! So if you have problems with this, then you have problems with the word of God, the Bible! You need to study these passages so that you can make it to heaven! If your pastor cannot answer these questions according to what I just said, then you need to leave that church!

We continue our salvation Says Colossians 1:23 and Work is a part of it. Otherwise, you’re part of the great falling away 2 Thessalonians 2:3 & many of the people believing you will end up going to hell! You butchered revelation 3:5 the text was they are lukewarm and if you’re lukewarm and your spit out of Christ body, are you now a member of Christ? Jesus emphasizes the daily baptism of suffering, which is a daily thing ! A True Christian has to be his disciple daily- luke 9:23 acts 14:22 and therefore you have a wrong ecclesiology concerning “names be blotted out!” We are under the law of Christ Galatians 6:2, first Corinthians 9:21. Tell me what those verses mean then if it doesn’t mean that. John 10:28 can you snatch yourself out of Christs hand? according to the Greek text you can’t snatch yourself (harpazo- a violent grabbing )because that wouldn’t make any sense! therefore the text only deals with others snatching you out of Christs hand, you can walk away! 1. If there is a design to the cosmos why is it so random? Nothing came from no where, the Big Bang is just an expansion of the condesed energy expanding. The only people who think nothing came from nothing is thiests seeing as God made the universe out of nothing. 2. How do we know the Big Bang was the cause of the universe, what if the universe never began in a sense. The Big Bang was just an expansion of the condesed niverse, not the cause of it. 3. How do we know life couldn't be differently? Human life isnt the only life and life of all species wouldn't be impossible just because human life wasnt there. 4. Because cells have evolved over time from simple cells, over time they became more and more advanced. Just like how technology evolves. 5. I'm not entirely sure how life originated orignally (though people can tell you how we had our orignal common ancestor) but we have proof that life didnt come exactly as it is now which the Bible proclaims. 6. Because we have evolved past the point of basic survival. We try to find the value to live besides just surviving. 7. There is NO absoulte morality, people in different parts of the world think different things are bad or good. Americans dont eat horses and most think its bad, but in Asia horse meat is common to eat. 8. Love just may seem that way to us because of the chemicals in our brain, but at the same time as I said earlier we have evolved to find meaning beyond just what makes us survive and love evolved to be different, even then other animals have love relationships similar to humans like Penguins proposing to their mate with gifts like rocks 9. We have no free will if your God exists because if he knows the future and the actions you will take do you really have free will? He knows your every moment in the past and future as you say then you have no free will. Stop saying we do when it goes against the nature of your God knowing what we'll do and we cant change it. 10. We dont have a drive for life after death, we are afraid of the unknown which is after death, Some have made religions and stories about what happens but not all humans desire or have a drive for life after death, such as some religions or athiests out there that find value in the one life you have on Earth, or reincarnation where you get a different life with no memories of your earlier life.

If there was a god why did he create earthquakes, tsunamis volcanoes and hurricanes to kill millions of people all over the world? If there is a god why did he create viruses, parasites and plagues that cause untold death and suffering in the world? Why would a loving god create a worm that burrows into the eyes of children and eat its way out through that child's eye? Other monstrous examples of you gods love are rabies, malaria, river blindness, Lyme disease, plagues, smallpox, and many more too numerous to mention.
