I purchased a used 2014 version of this GT in 2020 had 220 hours....has a briggs engine and the smart buttons...now 345 hours..I use to to snow blow. I'm in new hampshire works great....only issue I have is the frame snapped @ the seam....small bad weld. but other than that...great machine

Nice shop. I would opt for peg board above the work bench. I love having wrenches, screwdrivers and pliers all laid out before me. Two questions. Can you recommend a chipper shredder? Can you show us some winterization videos for lawn and garden equipment?

Erick, where is a reliable source for Craftsman parts? I used to go to Sears Parts Direct, but since they sold off the Craftsman line it is very difficult to find parts, especially for older Craftsman products.

I have the same issue. What I've started to do it find the part number for whatever I need, and then I goggle it to see if there is a generic version. Many Craftsman tractors are Husqvarna underneath and some are Electrolux.

That thing looks very simple, and kinda cheaply made? I've done a bunch of mower tires over the years. I got really good at it. I don't think that would be for me. However for someone that doesn't do it all the time or never got the hang of it, I could see this being useful. The full size tire changer might be more useful to me. But the thing that I would probably get the most use out of is the cheetah. Sometimes the straps just don't work that well. I have some steel bands with crank handles that do basically the same thing as the straps do. But some tires they just don't work well on. I tried starting fluid but the new starting fluid doesn't work for that anymore. I tried a few different sprays and ended up using some propane from a small torch. I don't like doing it that way myself.

I have the harbor freight manual tire changer for my automotive shop ( Farpoint farms restorations and repairs) and I can say that it doesn't do small tires at all. The center bore is far to large for these tiny rims to fit. I've done a LOT of these small tires with just hand tools (screwdrivers and a vice grip) and this tire changer was SO much easier that I would neve go back to that way now. Can it be damaged? Yup! Try to mount or dismount a tire with brute force and this will bend, but do it like shown in this video and the tool pays for itself in one use.

I fixed a problem with my 2001 MTD Yard Machine That some of your viewers might have had. I did a lot of repairs and when I was done with putting new belts on my mower would only move in high-speed. It took a lot of fixing and searching, but I found that the tensioner pulley Spring for the transmission belt was worn out. I doubled the Spring. Put more tension on the variable speed pulley and put it back together. And then I had low speed and up to high speeds. It worked great. I hope this helps someone because it took me a lot of searching the internet and no one mentioned this problem of weak spring.

i don't see anything i did differently, but now with the shifter in Neutral and variable drive in Park the lawnmower still moves forward or reverse depending on the last direction selected. While moving, the brake does not stop it. If i am in drive in put it in neutral and double pump the clutch/brake then it might go into park, but i have to double pump it. Tried replacing new cheap ebay belts with expensive MTD OEM belts and it didn't help. Any suggestions? I replaced the belts 7 years ago and didn't have any issues. This time it's kicked my butt.

@farpointmowersandmore thanks sir, fixed the belt. It's running good. But I noticed that sometimes when i turn it off and go to start it I turn the key over I get nothing. No sound. No turnover. Nothing. I move the gears around and hop off for about 5 mins. Then it starts up. Any idea on what this might be?

My upper drive belt keeps popping off causing my accelerator pedal to not work I’m assuming it’s stretched how do you find the exact belt replacement? Do you search what the sidewall of your belt says with the numbers thanks!
@farpointmowersandmore
@farpointmowersandmore 2 ай бұрын
If it's still visible the side of the belt should have the numbers. If not, look on the body of the mower under the seat, or on the underside of the hood. Most of the time it will have the actual model number or even the part numbers. Then, use eBay and Amazon to find a cheap replacement. Good luck!
