On my 1LE Camaro, the transmission and differential are connected via cooling pipes. How come I need different oil for the transmission (ATF) and the differential (75W-90)?
@FollowMyLine173 күн бұрын
Those are independent coolers. The transmission fluid and the diff oil do not mix and are not connected by the same cooling lines.
@tiborhegedus43713 күн бұрын
@@FollowMyLine17 Yesterday I followed the lines and I saw that the coolant goes from the radiator to the transmission, from there to the differential and back to the radiators. So the pipes are connected one after the other. I also thought it was separate, but since the transmission had to be removed to replace the synchronizers, I was able to observe the path of the pipes. I will do a recheck....

Could you do a video on how you soldered the two pins together on the relay. Or at least show how it should look like when finished. I'm learning how to solder and would like to give this relay thing a shot plus it does make the processs look more professional than using a fuse jumper.
@FollowMyLine1712 күн бұрын
I can add it to the list of videos to make, but it may be a while. If you buy the relays I listed and take the cover off, you will see the contact on the inside where it connects. Heat that up with the soldering iron and feed some solder into it. Once you have enough on there, switch to a toothpick instead of the solder and hold it together until the solder solidifies as you remove the iron.

I may also just start making them and selling them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Great video. Camaros and Vets do not like to be jacked up repeatedly on the pinch welds. Things bend and aluminum frames warp. I made a cheap wooden ramp out of structural grade 2x4s and 2x6s screwed and glued alternately spaced. Ramp size is 14 1/2" wide x 80" plus inches long - painted white. Yep it's heavy but no skirt drag. Use an eye bolt and rope on a little bike training wheel dolly to scoot ramp around. I use a helper to guide me as I drive the 2017 on. Ramps are shelves in the garage when not being used.
@FollowMyLine1729 күн бұрын
That is specifically why I use the lifting pads and pinch weld adapter. Vette’s also have very specific lifting pucks that lock into the chassis

I've seen other videos where they would add a resevoir that constantly bleeds the sytem so you don't have to keep doing this every once in a while. Do you think that type of system is efficient/reliable?
@FollowMyLine17Ай бұрын
I do! A secondary reservoir tank for the supercharger cooling system is ideal but not everyone wants to add additional lines and tanks to their engine bay.
@Starkiller567Ай бұрын
True. I’m thinking of adding an oil catch can to my system. Luckily I can fit both systems since one can go near the shock tower on the driver’s side and the other up in the front near the radiator.

Wondering why won’t recommend use SC3R or more aggressive tire in ZLE with 5w50 aren’t they suppose to have to have the same 50 viscosity when it’s hot? Just 5w will do a better protection at cold than 15w or am I miss something. Thank you in advance.
@FollowMyLine17Ай бұрын
There is a lot more to it than just a number. Yes, 50 is the viscosity but not all oils are the same. The 15W-50 has better high/hot temperature protection than the 5W-50 does due to its composition. The oil doesn’t break down at extremely high temps as easily as other 50 weight oil.
@jinhengtian3301Ай бұрын
@ thank you for the clarification. I think I will just use 5w50 and take it easy at the track. Living in an apartment it’s really a PITA to change oil every time before and after the event. Had to go to the storage unit to grab all the tools.

That tank has absolutely nothing to do with the supercharger cooling, the supercharger is a completely separate system...
@FollowMyLine17Ай бұрын
That is absolutely correct. I think you may be confused because this clip was taken from the full video of bleeding the LT4 supercharger system. If you watch that full video, I talk about just checking and filling that first since we are dealing with coolant anyway and you might as well just get it done.

so if that bottle didn't have that black part on top of the cap it would be a problem sucking air in even if the inner tube of the bottle is sucked into brake fluid?
@FollowMyLine17Ай бұрын
There is more to it than that. There is a check valve that opens and closes to prevent the fluid in the bottle (or air) getting sucked back in when you release the brake pedal to pump again and again.

@Ricky_Rocha this little bottle makes it a breeze. No need for a second person. No need to constantly loosen and tighten the bleeder valve, etc.
@Ricky_RochaАй бұрын
@@FollowMyLine17 Last question. I'm learning from you. So in theory, by using this item lets say if i replace a caliper... you really don't need another person to bleed the system just pump the brake pedal and let the fluid flow, all the bubbles flow through the tube and that's it right? Don't need a pressurized system. Reason why i asked is because the motive product failed on me by not sealing correctly on the bottle where you can see the gauge.

The 911 was not even trying.. lol. The car cost so much and on top of that you pay over MSRP sometimes 70-150k. If you’ve tracked regularity you probably have come across such driver in a 992 RS and driver was slower than even a bmw 3 series. Seen this at least 2x. Worst is when they sign up for upper classes but can’t drive or scared to wreck. What is the purpose if you drive a track focused car like a Honda. See record lap of 2:14 at RA for 992 RS so this driver is not representative of the true pace of the car. There is pace but you’ve got to have the nards to extract it. Long straight the RS should be punching 160mph. The driver here was barely cracking 150mph. It’s a shame really since the 991 RS was not like this. RS was slowing you down big time especially uphill before the front straight.
