attornies who are feeling like counseler due to lack of communication therfore client throws everything out there hoping to hit on something where the law applies. an attorney saying laws are not always fair is not reassuring. that is red flag attorney does not understand the law enough.

Good material. Although you may want to clarify your statement that “students loans can’t be discharge.” That’s true for federal but not even most private student loan. Three circuits have decided that over last few years.

I was a patient at the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center for 10 years. I feel that I was incarcerated there too long. I want to know why this happened because you ladies mentioned in the video that the commitment order is reviewed every 6 months so I don't understand why they kept me there for so long. What part does the Special Review Board play in this matter because I had to get their permission to leave the treatment from this panel?

One last thing and this seems counterintuitive, but right at the beginning of the initial 72 hour hold, tell them you voluntarily will stay in the hospital and be willing to sign their form for voluntarily being there, and if they ask you take medications, voluntarily take them while in there. I know they make you feel horrible, but by voluntarily doing both, it takes the wind out of their sails for the process of getting a court order forcing you to take the drugs and forcing you on outpatient treatment later. The last thing you want is a court order for outpatient treatment and a court order for taking the drugs. If you are successful in avoiding getting court ordered treatment and drugging, you can get a private lawyer and try to fight against drugging later on. But this is not the time to fight against it because mental health court is a kangaroo court and they just rubber stamp what the psychiatrists wants them to do. But if you are voluntarily complying with them and not refusing treatment, you no longer meet the requirements for court ordered treatment, and if they are following their own rules, they should dismiss the case and drop their attempt to get you on court ordered treatment and drugging. If not, the court should dismiss it because you are not refusing drugs and not trying to get out of the hospital. It might take several weeks to get out, but it is much better than the alternative of having a court order against you.

Remember, what you say will be turned around and used against you. If you say the wrong thing to the wrong person, they will turn it around and use it against you. And this includes the people you love and trust like family, friends, and also neighbors, co-workers, pastors, doctors, nurses, really anyone. Try to avoid it ever getting to the point where they try to take you to the hospital. But if it is too late for that and you end up at the hospital, put on a happy face, be nice, be friendly, be cooperative, make eye contact, be agreeable, and don't say the things that might get you committed. And most likely, 72 hours later you will probably be released without being committed. And then learn from that and don't say the things that got you into trouble ever again. Also hygiene goes a long way. Take showers, shave, wear clean clothes, brush your teeth, use mouthwash on a regular basis. If you look normal, act normal, etc., they can't figure it out. They mainly go by what you say and what your family says, etc.

The legal protections against involuntary commitment in Illinois are much looser than what you describe. I have seen a case continued, twice, for 14 days, without the patient consenting or even being present in court, without any prior contact with the appointed attorney. We also have no pre-commitment screenings of the adequacy of petitions. The very same psychiatrist who is "treating" the patient is the "examiner" who testifies against the patient in court. No outside examiners are involved, at least before trial.

My father bought income property in 2005. This three family was built in 1920, so you can imagine what it lacked by todays standards. Most home owners upgrade and or utilize their basements and my father did this before he passed in 2010. The tenants rent have always been far under the going price. 300$ less. Landlords may agree that third floor tenants can be a challenge however we have always been more than flexible and fair. Allowing full access to the yard, storage units, pool, ect. A family home of sorts. My brother inherited the home in 2010. Now we have a tenant that has not paid the rent in 18 months by utilizing the court system and we have done nothing wrong. We gave her as much and more access to the property. She paid for 8 months and stopped for reasons that remain unclear even today. Her fabrications and lies cost my brother 27,000 based on lies and the help of the town justice system and the police. We are now prisoners in our own home as she keeps close tabs on our comings and goings. My brother and I have been black balled and we are under siege by the very people whom are supposed to serve and protect EVERYONE! The courts will bot allow us to counter suite by claiming they cant talk about those issues. I have a spotless background and no traffic violations. This tenant barred false witness to assault and ive been in deep depression for covid is not allowing a speedy trail. I have suffered from depression my own life We have done little to nothing to deserve what is happening. I need prayers. We are under seige from our own officals, police, and have not had ever the police at the property until this tenant moved in.. I dont know where to turn. We where never profiting from this income property. It was a retirement cushion that has literally been stloen from underneath us. Dirty politics !!! We no longer donate to the police!

Try to gain a little knowledge about renting and real estate for you state/ city. Don’t accept any rent from the tenant not even a dollar and start an actual eviction at the court again..
