While that is crazy in and of itself; Martin Whitfield was the most severely injured officer in the shootout but by some sheer miracle he survived despite being shot in the leg and in the chest. He has since become a successful restaurant owner in his hometown of Indianapolis, IN. James Zboravan is a total badass for maintaining courage as the gunfire rained down on him and his colleagues while they were surrounded by a kind of Hell that would only be seen in the movies. What's crazy about James' story is that he was on the force for just thirteen months when the North Hollywood shootout happened. James has since managed to rise up to the rank of Sergeant despite suffering from constant back pain from two herniated discs in his spine. If James and Martin collaborated on a book about what they experienced in the shootout and what life has been like for them over the years; I would definitely buy a copy of the book and I have a great title: "Courage Under Fire: Our Stories of Bravery and Determination to Stop the North Hollywood Shootout."
