Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying don’t buy that Tesla or purchase FSD. Just be careful, because it is going to do the dumbest thing at the worst time. Otherwise, for sure go for it and have fun! What I do love is how I can jump on the highway, and relax and let the car drive for me. It’s really good at highway driving, and being able to sit back, and monitor the car, and know it’s going to keep your lane for you and change lanes is a game changer. As for as city driving; it’s pretty cool how a car can drive you around town with little input from the driver, but I find myself driving manually more than letting FSD do city drives, mostly because of the dumb mistakes it makes.

@MyTeslaTrek Oh I already have a Y with FSD, but it's an old 2022 with HW3. 2,200 miles on the last trip and only had a few issues (missed double ramp exit), but she took the next ramp and righted itself. I use FSD to and from work everyday and most everywhere I go - and usually the biggest issue is I manually signal to make it get in the correct lanes. It's amazing how sometimes she's so incredibly smart and perfect... and then will go full stupid and do a full send from a stop sign in a residential area. @@MyTeslaTrek

Fsd will never be solved as cameras can’t see far enough and can’t measure speed accurately. That’s why you almost hit that truck. Elon is dumb for removing all the sensors engineers told him not to remove. 🤦‍♂️
@MyTeslaTrek
@MyTeslaTrek 3 ай бұрын
You’re correct that the cameras can’t see that far. A couple hundred meters at best. I’m not sure how they improve sight distance with the current hardware. Humans determine speed of objects using binocular vision. Our brains can take the two images from our eyes and we can determine speed of an object pretty accurately. Obviously, that’s how we are able to can’t a ball or other object thrown our way, or determine if we should pull out onto a highway, or wait for traffic to pass before continuing. Since Tesla isn’t using binocular vision on the side cameras, that, as you correctly state, makes it hard to determined speed of an object. If you remember when FSD first came out, it was just dots and 3D boxes used to represent the world around the car. Vehicles are classified as large trucks, pickups, SUV and sedan on the screen. I believe, once the car determines what class of vehicle it is seeing, it’s using the size of the object to determine speed. (I could be completely wrong, this is my best guess) So, if the relative size of said object is getting bigger as it moves route car, it’s able to, within a fair estimate, use the change in size to determine its speed. Same goes for the object going away. It gets smaller in the view, so it knows it is going away. It’s my guess this is how they judge speed from the side cameras in the B-pillar. The front cameras are better. They aren’t a true binocular vision, but it’s two cameras, a wide field and narrow field. Using those cameras together, the car can probably make a pretty accurate assumption of speed since it can form a more 3D image of that is in front of it. All speculation on my part. Tesla does a very good job of keeping their stuff private, so it’s hard to say how they are really determining speed of vehicles on the road. I don’t know what to say about Elon. I don’t like him. I certainly didn’t buy the car based on him. I just wanted a fun electric car, and it has the best charging network and it’s reliable. If you’re talking about removing the parking sensors, my car still has them (April 2022 build) and they aren’t used for high speed traffic because the ultrasonics only work for a few feet anyway. They are literally for parking. Like an insects antenna feeling the world as it moves around slowly. Thanks for the comment and have a great day.

So your bagging on it but using it ? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️. Your going the correct speed limit and still bitching. Why?? it will all be 10x better in a few months anyway. Are you a hater or a lover. Your going 68 in the video. You just won’t show it it’s in the top left you won’t show your speed. But it shows. “ Max speed “ which coincides with the speed limit correct ?
@MyTeslaTrek
@MyTeslaTrek 4 ай бұрын
Did you even watch the video? The marked speed limit on the road is 65mph. The last speed limit sign the car was able to read was 50mph, which is displayed on the far right of the screen. That’s why I am filming at part of the screen. Then I show a 65mph sign go by, and return back to the screen and show that the car is still displaying 50 mph. I’m going 68-70 mph because I’m manually driving the car because it refuses to drive the marked speed limit. Why in the hell would I want to go 50mph when I can go 65mph? The “max speed” is just matching what I’m inputting from the acceleration pedal, which would match what would be shown on the lady of the screen. I’m not showing it because it is irrelevant to the fact that the car is not displaying the correct speed limit in the right. I’m bagging on it because Elon claims it is using vision to drive and read signs and it’s not doing so. If I’m making your stock drop, tough luck. Maybe they should put software out that works.

Is it supposed to read the signs or is it supposed to be programmed by GPS? To me it's less likely the car is looking out for speed limit signs and rather that specific road either has updated its speed limits and the GPS information has been updated or the Tesla data for that road isn't correct
@MyTeslaTrek
@MyTeslaTrek 4 ай бұрын
My understanding is that “Tesla Vision” is supposed to be responsible for the car. That leads me to believe that the car shouldn’t be reliant on GPS data and should be navigating the world all on its own, using vision. Using Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps in the background, they all have the correct speed shown. So, it’s anyone’s guess what Elon has going on.
@swilldenn7160
@swilldenn7160 3 ай бұрын
@@MyTeslaTrek so I just looked it up, and no Tesla isn't reading speed limit signs. It's basically displaying the programmed speed limit based on that road, and sometimes those roads aren't updated.

According to Waze, Apple, maps, and Google maps the speed limit is correct as shown per the sign. Again, why is the car not reading the speed limit sign? If it’s reading map data it should be going the correct speed limit.
