Kind of a shame to have it decided in these conditions. Riders still put on a good show but the finals were pretty underwhelming and i feel like Amaury would have had it in better conditions. Tristan is unreal but for me Amaury is still the king of Fronton.

its not being done at the level .... done right it is spectacular.... no landing backwards .. if its into flats you must hit the up wash & be facing the right way... ahead... what we are often seeing is very manual without flow. ... the riders as we often see in competitions.. want to jam a big move then ride out with lower level moves to complete the wave.... at this point in bodyboarding the focus should be all style.... i appreciate super clean well done simple moves in critical spots over manual- ling big moves through to completion ... i do understand your point though.

Anyone know what Tahei got for his bomb at 2:36:10 ? Seemed like his scores didn't move at all after that, even up to the heat ending, and his lowest was a 4.25. I can get not giving it a 10 because he wasn't that deep but not even exceeding 4.25?! Was he penalized for blowing a kiss in the barrel? All he needed was a 7.46 to move into 1st, so he must have been scored lower than that. That feels off to me (unless he got penalized for the showmanship) but then again I did see the water angle first. I can see marking him down slightly for the kiss because it almost led to him completely losing his line, but his scoop was critical and perfectly executed, and while he wasn't that deep he couldn't have been much deeper without getting eaten alive by that foamball. Seems underscored to me to not even be his 2nd highest score, but again, I'm not a judge (clearly).
