Great recipe that my mom used to do . Maybe the pan is too low( the pot should contain more oil) and the oil is too high in temperature. The sfingi should turn on their own. Thanks for sharing

Just the way my mom used to make it. regular sugar and cinnamon too. That was the first sweet my daughter had before she turned two. Lol. Thank you!! You guys are great and made this look simple to make. My daughter is now 25 and is making it herself in her new place. Just shared this video with her. All the best to you guys!!

My Sicilian mom would always make Sfingi. Your recipe with the ricotta looks so delicious. You like my mom always used baking powder and we dipped it in the granulated sugar, served nice and hot with a hot cup of coffee, buon appetito!!

No sugar in the sauce. I never had a bitter carrot. I use the Cento San Marzano and they are always sweet enough .

My maternal grandfather was a Pipitone. My grandmother made these sfingi every Christmas. However since I found my “roots” maternally and fraternally were JEWISH I know now that the idea of fried food ie. donuts and potato pancakes came from SPAIN to celebrate Hanukkah! During the Spanish Inquisition and the conversion of Jews to Catholicism and dispersal of Jews to Sicily and other parts of the world the customs of Jews survived in the foods and cuisines as well as certain customs . Thanks for the great video. I am going to make them today. In honor of my Jewish Sicilian heritage.
