@GregASmithh yee Ya I was worried when I saw the video is 7 yrs old. And man. Trust me, I know. I been doing this since I was 14 yrs old (I am 38 now) and have seen a lot of talented people come and go (unfortunately) life can get in the way. Really a bummer when super talented peeps disappear. So ya I was just making sure you're still doing it. Phew. Rooting for ya Greg

Nice cover, one of the best I saw so far. However I hear the song's drums mostly and I don't see any microphones.. Use your own sound, even if its drastically different than the original

not only did i find this video interesting and definitely cleared up some of what i was wondering about what the RMH west fraiser mill was about, but in the end the so-cal truck was one that i use to drive for a different company that bought it from them and later bought myself. Just sold her at the auction 2 months ago. Miss it deeply as it was a good truck and got me through some tough stuff. just found it weird that i happen to come across randomly on a youtube adventure

(One channel sound for anyone else?) This was really well done. From the camera work to the no-drama presentation. Let the process speak for itself. Very refreshing! A technical question: Do you make "marine grade" and how is it different? Thanks for the upload.
@austing7254
@austing7254 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the compliments, I made this a few years ago and have improved since then as well. Yeah the single channel is a result of me having to learn how to use a different editing software at that time, and then accidentally deleting the right audio channel. Still ticks me off to this day. I don't believe this plant has ever made a marine grade LVL. Most of it is used for new home construction.

as a carpenter i can say ::: lvl is used where you need more strengt than normal lumber would give. good lumber is strong, but can have weak spots, where say a branch go thru the beam. a lvl beam more standard. say if a dimension is rated for 2 ton load,, you dont have to look for weak spots,, while with normal lumber you had to test each log.

Must be very cold to work in that plant during the winter! Some buildings had insulation, others did not.
@austing7254
@austing7254 5 жыл бұрын
This one was usually pretty warm if you were in the main building (especially near the dryer) and a bay door wasn't open next to you on a really cold day. In the summer it was disgustingly hot at times, even at night. There's a building not really covered in the video next to the 'bucking station' called the 'pointer domer' where grape stakes (and sometimes other things) are made from the leftover log cores, there was a furnace in there but no insulation and a big opening next to the infeed so it wasn't very warm in the winter.
