Here are my recommended episodes for maximum Sanji simping experience: Water7 Arc ep 260-263, Enies Lobby Arc ep 297-298, also great ep 82, 108, 109, 185, 377, 586, 632 , 763- 764 and lastly Wano arc specifically ep 925, 1046 & 1061 😭💗 that last one was hands down the best character development I've ever cried in my life. I will love & defend Sanji till the end of time.

Girl almost the exact same happened to me lol... I strarted OPLA because I had covid back then, rotting in bed 24/7 and there was nothing better to do... I was like "oh this Mackenyu guy, who dis, he's cute" and then LA Sanji happened saying "something sweet for someone sweet" then blinking at Nami and BOOOM I was a lost person. I googled the character right after, I found Melonteee's videos about him, then I finished WCI in like.. a weekend, and the next and final step was the infinite amount of zosan fics on AO3. And here we are. I didn't know sh1t about Sanji until Melontee's analysis but I was very fond of the character, it felt refreshing seeing a so called 'good guy' with flaws and layers and a bunch of problematic sh1t, I felt like I can relate to him much more than to Luffy or Zoro (I love them tho but still), bc he behaved more like a HUMAN BEING than an out-of-reach hero with extreme level of supernatural power. That being said I dind't quite understand the amount of hate he gets from the general fanbase (might be cuz he's mirroring people's weaknesses all the time??). I can see his problematic side as it is but eventually I just want to enjoy him and the whole show regardless everything. (and Zosan is love, zosan is life, my two favourite idiots <3)

i’m at the climax of my own similarly unhinged “becoming a one piece fan” journey, in which i am now a one piece fan, so i really enjoyed your story. feeling very validated in my one piece route: watched random east blue saga episodes as a kid in the 00’s and shipped zoro and sanji before i even knew what shipping was, or what even being gay was or knowing i was also queer > absorbed sporadic one piece context through osmosis/fan content (and whatever the opposite of context is with none piece/one piece abridged) > lasted roughly 20 years (give or take) telling myself that while i’m mentally ill, i’m not so mentally ill that i would attempt the sheer amount of episodes/chapters it would take to ever get into one piece let alone even catch up > got diagnosed with adhd in my late 20’s and discovered my hyperfixation tendencies along with how often they are driven by my (chaotic) bisexual (disaster) interests > watched the one piece live action because zoro was hot, delighted that nami was also hot, devastated to find that i fell for the bait and was invested in the characters and story (the final nail in the coffin lbr it was just a matter of time after that) > was reminded of my zosan roots when sanji showed up in the live action and he and zoro started bickering > beamed directly to the zoro/sanji tag on ao3, absorbed so much zosan directly into my bloodstream > started watching the anime realised i was both done for and absolutely hyperfixating on the series as a whole when i zoomed through east blue saga at a pace i have not been able to achieve in years (i used to keep up anime seasonally and now i struggle to watch things i’m even interested in) and kept going into unfamiliar territory, i’m currently in the back end of alabasta saga/second half of alabasta arc. the one piece live action was the nail in the coffin, but i think the actual mvp in the case of watching the anime is me being a gintama fan. i can’t explain it succinctly but i know in my heart of hearts if i hadn’t gotten into gintama first, i would never have been able to fully appreciate one piece.
