I wish y’all could’ve seen the elephants before they got rid of em😢

I'm sure they were magnificent, but we do understand why this Zoo and many others have made the decision to not hold elephants any longer. We were given an opportunity to visit an Elephant Sanctuary in TN of all places. It was a very special place that was now home to many old, abused and otherwise mistreated elephants. Its sad that a place like that has to exist, but it was awesome to see that they were being cared for. Cant wait to share that video.. 4000+ farm in TN home about 40 elephants. It was very humbling. Elephant Sanctuary of TN.

We have been to the Saint Louis Zoo many times since it is close to where we are from. If you are ever near there you should check it out. It is a very nice zoo, and it is FREE. We like all of the exhibits but the penguins are always a favorite. Looking forward to the next adventure!

Years ago we were there, and there were no docents to explain the various artifacts in the small museum. So I did it myself, explaining what a powder flask was, how a rifle was loaded, and where the Alamo's original Texas flag was located. Answer: in the Mexican national museum. Yo0u might wish to recall that Mexico won and Texas lost. All because the brave defenders would have had to free their slaves if Mexico won the war.
@deangertieexploretheworld4 күн бұрын
Monica and I had been there in the past, prior to the Museum and the Phil Collins Collection being put in place. It is sooo much better now that have details on all the artifacts. The displays are absolutely beautiful and they have been able to acquire some incredible finds. And yes, the battle of Gonzales is one we learned about, not many outside the Sate of Texas know that one "Come Take It"

The Alamo is considered a shrine. Photography is not allowed inside the mission. Please be respectful.
@deangertieexploretheworld4 күн бұрын
100% agree with you in that there are several of the Missions that do not allow photos at all. However, in recent years the Alamo has changed their stance and this is what is written on rules posted at the ticket booth. "As certain technology has the potential to damage these structures and endanger visitor safety, flash photography is not allowed inside the Alamo Church and Long Barrack. The Alamo allows photography with cell phones or cameras but without the use of flash technology, including bulbs or LED lights" We took one quick passing view of the List of Hero's Memorial.. but we did not film anything else in the space.
