Banana spider webs will have a think line down the middle of it, and in a zig zag pattern. I should have mentioned that. I have yet to see any here in Kansas but who knows when.

In California, we have the very similar big Orb Weaver spiders, Pretty similar I think. I always thought they were kind of cool. I saw a big June bug fly into one once -unfortunate for him, LOL. People automatically kill them when they see them, and that's just wrong. Thanks for this...subbed...

Thank you! Spiders and snakes usually pay the price for just being. I’m in Kansas and our Orb weavers get big but I’d like to travel south and study these in person.

almost any government's army could easily wipe out the largest dinosaurs, they would be too big not to be found and slaughtered. Even the activists who are in favor of the life of these animals could not do anything, it would be a risk to people's lives and urban infrastructure, there would be no talking, it would only be killed. Although they reproduced quickly, I highly doubt that the large and more dangerous dinosaurs lasted that long, on the other hand, some smaller ones could become exotic pests, causing more damage to ecosystems than to humans themselves.
@jonathanturull850825 күн бұрын
You're using a lot of old estimates... You're gonna need to update some of those sizes. Also, if you go off of the theory of evolution, yes, some things aren't answered. If you go off of the creationist narrative, those creatures wouldn't be invasive, and the dinosaurs could stay steadily populated and would probably be protected however people could. You gotta remember from the other perspective everything we have in our world that's alive wasn't hunted to extinction or was deemed safe enough for us to not bother.

I've studied this for twenty years. There is no such thing as an invasive species. ❤ The idea of the "balance" of nature is a little antiquated though, and easy to disprove... also *we* are nature.... so any act of introduction is also an act of nature.... the so-called "native" species whi cant adapt to new-comers were on their way out one way or another, and the new-comers are just ensuring the optimal health of the greater ecosystem by ushering in the local extinction of the plants and animals and others who are no longer well-suited to that ecosystem. ❤ None of the species "get out of control".... it's called an "outbreak" and given enough time, it will integrate. Most of them aren't just not harmless... they're incredibly beneficial! They don't cause ecological problems! Humans do!! But again- everything we do is natural... so we are like a natrual disaster and the "invasives" are like the clean up crew, the wound healing crew and the regenerating crew..... we have had it ALL wrong.

13:25 idk man, I think things like raptors, dilos, and stiggys would stand a chance, sure they are *kinda* large but small enough to where they could stay hidden if they chose to live in forested areas and sustained themselves on things like deer and fish (for the carnis anyway)
@wjm96042 ай бұрын
You need a mesh laundry bag, walmart, and stick the trap inside, close draw string. Then open the door. The laundry bag works over birdhouses with the Van Ert trap also. Birdhouse should be on a pole though.

Typical "Dinosaur Gets Loose Movies" (which are most dinosaur movies) all start with the dinosaur going on a rampage and ending with it getting killed, which is what typically happens when a predator gets loose in an urban environment.
@Random-fd1oh3 ай бұрын
13:26 dang not even pyroraptor? they are pretty small and would basically be like the average coyote or wolf. And if they do exhibit pack behavior like other raptors in the movies, I'm pretty sure they would be pretty stable in subarctic/cold environments.

Hear me out: - Feeder with a camera - Metal perch connected to high voltage - Remote switch - Large garbage can with one way door lid underneath Watch camera, flip switch when house sparrows are on it, take out the trash. Eradicate dozens or hundreds in a day. Would the DNR arrest me lol
@hoosiercarry11493 ай бұрын
Sounds awesome! I already have the feeder with a camera. I just need to be more educated on what exactly does a house sparrow look like. How close is it to our native species.

I was thinking of patenting something similar, but the camera would use AI(and trained VERY thoroughly) to detect and zap House Sparrows and Starlings.

What if they're not pets , but keep getting into my goldfish pond ? I just released a male slider that was unfortunately in there for three years . A female slider found it's way into the pond four days later , but was able to climb out . we caught her in the front yard , and I was able to take her down to the lake to release her . Did I do a bad thing for the eco-system at the Lake ?

No luck with the Van Ert traps just yet. I just keep catching Wrens. My success has been high powered air rifle ( Gamo 177 ) and a cage trap I made. I submerge the trap in a barrel of water. Takes about 15 seconds. I hate the fact I have to clean up someone else's mess....😡

I have watched house sparrows kill eastern bluebirds and take over the nest box. They use the little stick perch to stand on and kill the birds in the nest box. I learned that the only bird that needs the perch are the house sparrows. I removed the perches on my bird houses.

I'm all for evicting invasive bird nests and eggs from bird houses but leave the live birds and babies alone. It's not their fault they are here. So, put up bird houses and remove house sparrow or starling nests and eggs when you see them nesting there. If enough bird houses are kept free of these invasive birds, native birds will have places to nest. In Connecticut this is done, and native birds (mainly the bluebird) have returned and are increasing in their numbers. It's no use killing the invasive birds as they will always be here now.

The silver and the big head are actually very good-tasting fish, and the Y bones are very easy to pick if the fish is large enough. The grass carp, on the other hand, does taste like a normal carp because they stay in the mud and towards the bottom.

There are several traps sold specifically for sparrows, the Van Ert sparrow trap goes inside birdhouses and is only $10, or several others sold online cheaply. They do not allow them to escape and will trap alot more per day. If you google the term, you can find them easily.
