Considering one of these for my pedalboard (Pedaltrain Metro 16 should fit well in that main compartment) & other gear... any idea how this compares to Mono's pedalboard bags in terms of the padding on the sides and between sections/compartments? Think it would sufficiently protect more expensive gear in that main pocket?
@rickyrayreid
@rickyrayreid 18 күн бұрын
100% would be great for you! From front to back it has a ton of padding. Especially in the middle section sleeve and separated back portions where you’d put a laptop. The side portions have a little less padding but extremely durable and tightly woven material that will definitely protect whatever you have in there. When I moved to Japan I used this bag for all my expensive gear. Apollo interface, camera, MacBook Pro, mics, Nintendo switch, etc… and didn’t worry about it one bit! Hope this helps! @rickyrayreid
@rickyrayreid 20 күн бұрын
Oh wow! Thanks! I appreciate that! Mannnnnnn, I wish it was first try! 😅 Each of the guitar parts I did as single takes (one long record without cuts) BUT the main center video I probably did about 30+ times before getting one that I was happy with all the way through ha For the solo I would say even more…probably around 50+, but that part is so enjoyable just improvising and eventually finding out what it shapes out to be! I actually got lucky on the guitar harmony part! That one was first take! (Almost never happens for me haha) How about your recording style? Are you pretty quick and accurate with just a few takes? Thanks for the comment!

Look at any home decorating show. These people have major OCD- everything in it's place, dials, lamps, chairs, etc. When you are making money, magically all sins are forgiven! My point is, don't stress over it. It's a good thing. When you learn to channel it into something productive you will be very successful my friend!

Yo! Solid stuff! Totally relate to being hesitant on putting content out due to not thinking it's good enough. I've been putting the "final touches" on an album for the past 6 months lmao. It always seems to be the start or the end of a project that is the hardest to get through. And it's not even only musicians that struggle with it. I had a conversation with a friend of mine that does physical art like paintings and sculptures, and he said he deals with the same stuff; lacking motivation after you put a bunch of time into something you care about. I guess that's just how artist's brains are wired. Anyways, I don't have the answers to how to be more consistent in quality of art, nor do I think my brain, or any other artist's brains, will figure it out. But I do know that sitting around waiting for something to randomly happen is never a good option. And that's been my mentality. Progress might be slow, and the results might not be what you want them to be, but pushing towards something is more rewarding than doing nothing. Love seeing you pop up on my feed dude, the folks from atascadero are rooting for ya!

Just playing chords is one thing, but bending notes is another. The different results were subtle. The bigger result is going to be from really pulling on the strings since that has a greater chance of influencing their pitch. In addition, a tele-style bridge to eliminate any spring drift would be better (re: “more scientific”?). I’d want to see that done before buying a clear winner. All that said, I also tune up because of the logical stability it should bring. But I also have a fixed bridge, so I wonder if the math is not only more fuzzy but even altogether different w a floating bridge.
@rickyrayreid
@rickyrayreid 4 ай бұрын
Totally agree with ya Benjamin! I prefer fixed bridges 100% literally for the stability. A more scientific test would be like you said, maybe doing like 50-100 bends up to a specific pitch on each string would provide a more interesting result and “out of tune-ness”!
@lilivi4301
@lilivi4301 4 ай бұрын
Imo best is tune up to pitch, do a multi step bend around the 12th fret, tune again, repeat. If you have to do it more than 2-3 times your guitar needs a setup. After that it should hold tune hreat

I always tune up to pitch because everyone seems to have the opinion that that is the right way. Then again, sometimes I get in there quickly while playing and I don't pay any attention to whether it's up or down to pitch (can't really afford to in such short time).
@TomKloseMusic
@TomKloseMusic 4 ай бұрын
Doesn't it also make more sense to tune up to pitch cause from playing the string tension will always lessen and they will go flat, not sharp?
@rickyrayreid
@rickyrayreid 4 ай бұрын
Same thought here, but maybe when it’s tuned “down” the string is at its released or lowest tension and return to that? I’m thinking the “what goes up, must come down” theory 🤣

@HeadRoaster 4 ай бұрын
I think I've always heard that tuning down was bad for pitch stability.. kinda the opposite of what you showed, interestingly
@rickyrayreid
@rickyrayreid 4 ай бұрын
That’s what I thought too! But it makes sense to me that maybe when you “bend” the string will already be at its “longest” length and hopefully return back to that original pitch with the lowest tension. Whereas if it’s tuned “up” maybe it catches/releases one of the windings at the nut and causes it to fall out of tune. Very interesting to me!
