Asalamu'alaik Emma..may Allah heal your difficulties in this life. I'm someone who has been deaf since childhood(5year old) I've been wearing a 'hearing aid' in both ears..half my life(still am) I've also been told to try ESL(English sign..,) but I can communicate normal so theirs no need..I don't believe you need ASL..just 'hearing aids' Sign language is for the extremely deaf..and for people who know sign language already..if you're going to talk to normal people..and they won't know ASL...then it will be a waste of time learning ASL.

A response to someone claiming that Islam and feminism is compatible. "You've conflated two different issues. Are there problems with some Muslim men not giving the Sisters their rights and not dealing with them with wisdom? ABSOLUTELY this is a problem. But as a rule, i don't see observant Muslim men advocating this behavior--they may not adequately address it, but they aren't advocating it. And indeed, as a result of such neglect, this has caused a backlash and opened the door for the schemes of the feminists. "We have to identify what feminism is and its objectives. Feminism is an ideology that is alien to Islam; it stems from Cultural Marxist ideology, and at its core is kufr, for it calls for that which entails BELYING what the Prophet taught. Islam does NOT support IDENTICAL rights between men and women; hence, no honest Muslim who thinks through what they believe can call themselves a "Muslim feminist." Trying to do so will lead to a severe case of cognitive dissonance--or worse. "You can see Muslimahs adopting the rhetoric of the feminists, and not too long thereafter, they start objecting to what Allah has revealed, because what the Prophet taught does not comply with feminist principles, like, what they call "equality." The one who objects to Allah or His Messenger cannot be regarded as a Muslim. "Feminism is based on the principle that men and women should have identical rights--which is what is meant when the feminists speak of "equality." Islam does not believe in identical rights or "equality," as the feminists mean. Hence, you have Muslimahs--many of whom have not learned their Fardul-`Ayn, much less polemics on how to refute Western ideologies--who will find themselves at a crossroad: either they submit to what the Prophet came with (and reject feminism)--OR--they insist on feminist ideology and join the ranks of the apostates. You can add to the mix that it is EVIDENT that the social engineers are promoting feminism to promote immorality (including, fornication, sodomy, and lesbianism) with the objective to subvert the family to see why feminism is so dangerous to the Muslims in the West and elsewhere. The end result of feminism is hostility between men and women, a breakdown of the family, moral degeneracy, and ultimately kufr and atheism. This is why feminism is such a fitnah of this time. NOTA BENE Feminism should NOT be equated with women's rights. The rights of human beings come from the Creator--and not from human opinion or emotions. It is a duty of Muslims to support women's rights--while rejecting feminism.

Being Muslim is by definition acknowledging the divine rights of women. But feminism, which is born out of kufr, has fabricated rights, fabricated responsibilities, fabricated virtues, fabricated vices. So no, being a Muslimah is not by definition being a feminist. Rather, being a Muslimah, being a Muslim, is by definition being a slave. It is acknowledging our slavehood and submitting to Allah's definitions of rights, responsibilities, virtues, vices - as presented to us via his messenger, salla Llahu alayhi wa alihi wa sahbihi wa sallam. In some instances, the society in which we live will happen to align with those divine definitions. In many instances, particularly when it is a non-Muslim society, those definitions, those views, will *not* align. In the case of feminism, just look at some of the foundational values of feminism: if you are intellectually honest, you will find they contradict what the Prophet, salla Llahu alayhi wa alihi wa sahbihi wa sallam, brought.
