Hi there, what is your normal shoe size? I’m learning how to size myself for a pair of Jackson inlines :)
@nexe71282 жыл бұрын
Why did you choose standard version, and not lite version? I’m going to switch to new blades, and I’m thinking between gold seals and coronation aces, but gold seals will be probably to difficult for me so I think I will stay with coronation ace. But now I have to decide between standard and lite version.

How did you like your skates after getting to wear and practice in them more? The IFS Pro frames are on sale and I'm considering getting those, but the Jackson Mirage frames are also on sale, and those state they have a slightly curved rocker. Not sure if the IFS Pros do or not since that's not listed in their description. Thank you!
@user-kh9ki3kq8m Жыл бұрын
i know this was a while ago but the IFS pro is not rockered! you need different sized wheels to adjust it.

if you put some cheaper blades on the diamonds, you could use them as recreational boots on plastic ice or at a rink and you wouldn't have to worry about keeping them looking nice or damaging them
@amberhillier73612 жыл бұрын
she could put some off ice wheels on! she wont be doing sals and jumps on them if she just starts out with the wheels so the lack of tongue support won't matter too much

@FigureSkatingWithAlicia3 жыл бұрын
Color doesn’t lift color. My natural color is really dark (level 3), so I had to bleach my roots first to be able to apply the manic panic. If I was naturally a level 7-8 you could possibly get away with just putting the manic panic right over the hair without lightening first but it wouldn’t be as bight as doing it on a level 10

Hi, would you mind me asking about the size of your IFS frames to your boot length? I'm a beginner and bought the frames from this website, but I'm scared they may be shorter than 1/2" to the boot- would that really affect the mounting and skating experience?
@FigureSkatingWithAlicia3 жыл бұрын
I bought the IFS frames already mounted to the boot so I don’t have any knowledge about just buying the frames separately. 😕 My boots are a 5 1/2 regular. The boot itself measures about 9 1/2 inches or 24 cm from toe to heel. The frames measure 8 3/4 in or 22.5 cm (I measured the top of the frame that attached to the boot) I hope this helps! If you have Facebook definitely join the adult skate too Facebook group and ask on there, there are a lot more people on there that could help you out

Great progress! I noticed that you were struggling a little on you’re salchow and I think it’s because you’re waiting too long to jump after the 3-turn. Remember it’s a half rotation jump, so you do the 3-turn and keep your free leg behind so it doesn’t swing, then let it take off like a waltz jump. Also I wanted to say that I think your waltz jump looks amazing btw, you do a good job getting speed going into them!

@@FigureSkatingWithAlicia I'm the only adult in my club and what I love about my rink is how hard they push me! they hold me to the same standard as the kids and I think that's been super important. Just FYI to anyone watching this, these are considered Recreational Skates by the manufacturer, Reidell. I'm surprised that the pro shop put them in the oven because they are not actually heat moldable! Also, they are only for basic skating skills and not rated for jumps beyond learning waltz, toe loop, and salchow. But, honestly, I wouldn't want my skaters using these for any jumps.I'm with the other people that gave you feedback - the Motion will take you further. I would be surprised if you are actually still skating in these almost a year later - they could really hold you back from progressing beyond Learn to Skate Basic Skills.
@FigureSkatingWithAlicia3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Aimée, yes the diamonds are still recreational skates but as you said they are for learning up to the waltz, toe loop and Salchow, which I’m still currently learning my waltz and just starting to learn the Salchow. A year ago I didn’t even think I’d be this far since I could barely do backward crossovers lol I plan on keeping these until I at least get my Salchow down then hopefully by then I’ll save up enough to get new boots. I did upgrade to coronation ace blades which made a huge difference (at least on how I felt). And with the heat molding that was the first time ever that I’ve seen it done, just last week I mentioned it to another employee at the pro shop they told me they had never done it for figure skates.. but on the other hand the diamonds aren’t the same material on the inside as the emeralds and below so I don’t know if that’s why he did it. Overall they were fine, and felt a lot better but that doesn’t mean it was correct.

@@FigureSkatingWithAlicia coronation ace is great developmental blade! Figure skates can be heat molded! But the Diamonds are not heat moldable, unfortunately.
@FigureSkatingWithAlicia3 жыл бұрын
@ So far my blades have done me well lol I was nervous I wouldn’t like them but they’re helped me out a lot. I just looked up heat molding figure skates and on Riedells website they have a “heat molding figure skates” page. They actually say it’s ok to do it to the recreational skates but only leave them in the oven for about 4 minutes at 180 degrees Fahrenheit. This post it from 2014 so it might be outdated. ice.riedellskates.com/2014/heat-molding-figure-skate-boots

I live in AZ, where the in person store for discountskatewear.com is located. I've gone to the store several times and have been disappointed with the service there countless times.
