Nice work. There's a story about the Appalachian tune that ultimately became 'I Wonder as I Wander' (or some such). Apparently it was heard by a busking child, passed down through oral culture in the isolated community with a very old hexatonic-type British folk scale. I don't know what the original lyrics were, it was Christianised like many of them. But a fantastic melody I'm sure you'd do a good job with.
