Go to the fraccionmiento El Rosario, there is a university in front of the fraccionamiento, the university is called URSE and go to 9th Street and you will see several murals in the houses, and then go to the health center on 6th Street, you will see a similar mural in the wall of a house, and in the same street you can find an a famous restaurant called la panadera y el chef, where you could eat, also in front of the URSE university there are restaurants called "fondas" where you can eat regional Oaxaca food

Yeah is now a huge party , less intimate but don't get wrong, the tradition, the simple and warming tradition still exit as you know in everybody house, I don't see nothing wrong to celebrate and show to the world in a festive way a little of what is all about.
@lalolanda687223 күн бұрын

Ya I don't think parades were part of the day of the dead back in the day .Back in the day you would of course build your alter at home with 7 levels picture/pictures of the deceased flowers fire water stuff they enjoyed/liked when they were around each level of the alter represents something I just can't remember what .People would go to the cemetery clean and decorate the graves spend all day and night at the cemetery with lots of decorations candles flowers mariachi bands playing all night lots of food etc.I think the parade part came years later and many young people in Mexico know about Halloween here in the USA so now many young people in Mexico wear Halloween costumes during the day of the dead.
@karlbrady7124 күн бұрын
Halloween came from the Celtic countries of ancient Ireland, UK, and Western Europe (Although there is little recorded from Western Europe and England). The Irish and Scottish celebrated Halloween and brough it with them when they immigrated to the 'New World'. The Ancient people of Mexico had a completely different celebration that was around the same time. I.e. Soon after harvest.... The USA (particularly in the southern states) now celebrates a mixture of these festivals with influence. I was also very surprised to see local Mexicans here dressed up. Some were dressed up as characters like Mario and Luigi. I would have thought that was inappropriate.
@onceuponaglobe24 күн бұрын
Yes I think you're right! I heard that 'moving' parades are only a thing that started in the last 10 years or so. Apparently there were stationary parties that had the same sort of props as the parades, according to what I read.
