I am glad and happy with the new president that has been elected. The culture at Andrews has been going down hill. Just to give you an example. When I first started at andrews in 2018, in the fall after the school started in the first week you have a big meeting and in the big field with the flag, food would be handed out. In the background they had live jazz musicians playing. I thought to myself, I see the situation. Towards the end of my stay, at andrews in 2022, they had a student event near the cafeteria in which the student clubs could present themselves to all the other students. In the background was playing all sorts of rock music, such as Queen (which Freddie Mercury is famously gay) and other music of the like. I thought to myself, I how can I be Christ's representative here, when I trying to represent a club that's purpose is to have mission in the community, when in the background at the Adventist college is worldly rock music being played. The other fact that many students smoke on campus and not much is done about it. I think that it's about time that change has come, and that it is outside change from someone that has not been caught up in the culture of the Campus and where it has been heading these last years. We need our flagship school to stay true to its purpose and authenticity!

SDA politics is so corny but pop off I guess

There has been concern among many alumni and parents regarding the trajectory of Andrews University for some time now. This latest controversy seems to be a culmination of these concerns. A godly, award winning, and widely respected professor was let go with only cryptic reasons given (similar to this video). Students, faculty/staff, and alumni expressed their concerns, but received no tangible response. It seems to be in rather poor taste to, instead, accuse them of being outsiders participating in vaguely described smear campaigns (as if tithe paying church members, let alone faculty, parents, and alumni do not have a vested interest in the well being of Andrews). This may hinder any healing that may need to occur and may make the new president’s job that much more difficult. Please remember that Andrews belongs to the Lord and the only legacy that matters is the one that is faithful to the mission that we have been given to share the 3 Angels’ Message to a dying world. Maranatha!

I’m one of the people Dr Luxton is referring to in this video, and I can assure you a smear campaign was never my agenda. When good and godly faculty members are inexplicably fired from Andrews University the administration should not be surprised that concerned parents and faculty members might express their astonishment and seek reasonable answers (unfortunately none have ever been given).

I totally understand taking Egypt out of the man. I need to unlearn the old way before we can be filled (having an emptied vessel) with His righteous learning.
