You should do a video on how to properly blend the irons. Like how much loft you could add to have blades until 7 iron and then 4-6 in the slight cavity. I've been curious as I current play older mizunos at 35 in a 7 iron but all irons these day are stronger then mine. But I like the window I hit them at as a plus handicap and Im scared if I get new irons since CG is lower they could balloon with higher lofts.
@CoolClubsКүн бұрын
Correctly blending irons depends on the speed input. Unfortunately it isnt a one size fits all. Look into how long your driver goes, how long your highest lofted wedge goes, how many clubs you want to play and fill in the gaps in a way that suit your game. For some players it may be 7 yard gaps, for others it could be 15+.

It’s hard to make sense of the tour vs game improvement test results, as the 1/4” center low strike distance appears to be about a yard shorter than the 1/2” low, even though the same AoA was used. I assume this testing is done indoors to eliminate environmental factors? Would still love to see the Miura TC-201 retested under “game improvement” conditions, as tour results are by far the best you’ve tested.
@CoolClubsКүн бұрын
We have tried to make the test relative to what happens out in the field. The Payers 80mph test is 2* down AoA and the Tour 90mph test is 4* down AoA. Testing is done indoors using GC Quad and Pro V 1 Balls.
@hoganfan924Күн бұрын
@@CoolClubsThanks for the info. On the 80mph tests you showed (both tour & players results), AoA was shown at -2 deg. That’s why the 1/2” low strike flying farther than the 1/4” low didn’t make much sense to me. That’s all I was curious about.

I struggle to understand why anyone would play these over the JPX 923 Tours unless they really are a blade purest. There is literally no benefit in performance in a modern-day blade (without 3D printing that is)
@michaelocean47884 күн бұрын
Main difference to me is blade length. The tours are longer so mass behind the ball and cg are different which also affects feel. Not much of a difference but nice to have options.
@BraydenRoqs4 күн бұрын
i think in the scoring irons blades actually make a lot of sense (as long as you have confidence in your iron game) the feel is unmatched and the consistency in distance is big for me. in the 4 and 5 i prefer a cavity but blades for the rest

Got 4 deg Lob and 14 deg bounce Sand wedges this year to “test out the extremes” and see what I like Suffice it to say I will be going back to traditional 6-12 deg of bounce lol. Sometimes the pros are just better and I should stick to whats made for my skill level, even at a 5 handicap
@joesti76077 күн бұрын
I switched to these as a 8 handicap with a 92mph 7 iron ss. Hit my buddies who got fit into them as a higher handicap and I dropped 5 7 irons almost on top of each other. Spin and launch are great. Can still do a knockdown if need be. Only downside is they are very hard to work left and right but I don’t try to unless the situation really calls for it. If your higher swing speed or lower handicap don’t be afraid to give these a try. It’s like autopilot.

I bought a set great irons. Would love to have a matching gap wedge. Their follow up survey was interesting. @newsogn514811 күн бұрын
This fascinates me, I think about this idea of moi a ton, how do you measure that tho? The force is coming from the hozzle, and ideally there is a moment on the shaft to close the face to square, but increasing the weight further away from the axis of the moment could make it harder to close the face? Right? But it seems like moi only really helps on off center hits, but honestly if the golfer does not get the face closed or the swing path is off high moi or not that ball will bend in undesirable ways right?

If you adjust the head weight of the 10K do you have to worry about making it illegal?
@CoolClubs10 күн бұрын
Depending on where you adjust the weight. It is definitely something to be aware of.
@lkae48 күн бұрын
There are two ports, one in the back, one at the adapter. If you add weight front/middle, that should decrease or keep MOI the same. I think Ping also designed it with a bit of MOI margin at 5900 g-cm2 heel to toe. The max USGA limit is 5900 +100 g-cm2.

Interestingly, I got fitted at cool clubs in March and got a Ping 430 10K with the new ventus velocore+ shaft. Also interesting, is that it was not until I started playing driver at D6 that I could hit driver (this part I had to tell the fitter). So far, this driver combo is the best I have ever had by a large margin. It took me some time to trust that the driver was mostly neutral, so I could aim at the middle of the fairway, but since adjusting to that line, it’s been great!
