The only way to clean the intakes in the cylinder head properly and thoroughly is using walnut media with a media blaster (plus the media blaster wand and the two vacuum adapters). The inlet manifold´s tightening sequence must be complied with and the five holding screws must be torqued at precisely 10Nm. Failing to do so and the necessary tightness of the air intake system cannot be ensured. Many thanks for sharing the video.

Great video, but loosening the sump bolts are you not breaking the seal, and risking a leak afterwards. is it not safer to remove it altogether and replace it.

Thanks for the video, my alarm goes off when I lock my car. Do you think it’s the same problem? I have a 2009 golf
@MTMMotorServices6 күн бұрын
@@jim7026 the alarm could go off for a few reasons. But if you get the car scanned with a diagnostic reader and you get the fault code 01134 then it is a good indicator that it is an issue with the sounder itself.

Thanks mate. Silly placement for an electric component, I’d say. Having this issue on my mk6 gti, same fault code as well.

Great video. Reference comment regarding confirming serial number of the replacement part matches the original part, I think you meant to say confirm the PART number or MODEL numbers match. As serial numbers should never match as they are unique to that individual part and not any other parts from the same part/ model range. Splitting hairs maybe but it may help others to know this. Cheers.

Thanks for the info re, this feature I have a 2012 chrysler ypsilon (lancia) with this feature and ive cured mine by keeping it "switched off !" waste of space and cost , and damaging to engine and battery , who ever dreamt of this has a "main bearing loose" ! probably the same chap who invented the "wet cambelt" system ! utter madness ? ? @@bathanmark the customer noted that the coolant level warning light came on. He had topped it up himself a few times before bringing the car in to be investigated. Luckily he knew not to continue driving when the coolant was low.

You know, I grew up in the city riding public transportation. Then I bought my Audi and now I'm a make shift mechanic 😅♥️ thanks for helping a girl out with vids like these! I have a MK1 and have seemingly weird problems with my fuel delivery. Especially start up in damp weather is really hard and I might need to turn the ignition several times for it to manage to start up. So I've wondered if it's an electrical issue since sometimes she will fire up with no problem, even in -15 celcius. When I have poor start ups the car generally feels sluggish and I have to drive on lower gears. It also "lugs"/cuts out during acceleration - can that be connected to the module or is that more of a general fuel pump failure problem? There's two fuel pumps too, so I don't know which is the problem, and parts are expensive. The problem is definitely worse when my fuel level is low. I've assumed it was a problem with the fuel pressure, especially due to start up problems plus the cuts during quick acceleration (slow, careful acc is fine).

very useful video and well explained. I am old school DIY mechanic and if I was presented with this issue my first thoughts would be to attempt tighted the 7 bolts holding the housing in place as this may have solved the problem. Did you try this first ?

The front bush bolt should only be finger tight to start. The hub should then be lifted until the car starts to lift off the ramp/jack stand. The bolt can then be fully tightened. This ensures that the bushing is secured in a natural ride-height position. If it's tightened when hanging down like this, there will be undue strain on the bushing when in the normal position, resulting in premature wear. Torque specs for the two bolts are 63nm + 180°. Torque spec for pinch bolt nut is 52nm
