Thanks for starting with the stats that I need. I'm at around 285 total distance with 1.44 smash factor, 108 club head speed and 160 average ball speed. So basically I'm mishitting.

I thought the problem for most amateurs is that we play the ball too far forward leading to topping and pulls. By playing it more towards the middle and with the hands ahead, we can get better strikes. I thought only the Driver swing should deviate from this.
@krusher742 ай бұрын
The topping is not from the ball position its from people trying to scoop the ball into the air at strike instead of just swinging through he ball. The pull is also from swinging over the top with the arms and little rotation of the torso.
@lawrencecirillo32332 ай бұрын
@@krusher74 i get that, but I believe that people being taught to play the ball forward like a driver hurts them. Especially in hybrids, it's important to make clean contact. I'm not asking for the ball to be in the back of the stance, but more towards the middle than off the left heel would insure that more people will get the ball airborne without necessarily being to steep. In fact, I will say that the majority of amateurs I have played with and see on the tee, are NOT steep in their attack angles with their fairways woods, but rather the opposite. Clearly, the way it's been taught (the way you have in this video) is not helping the average golfer.

I don't know anyone that swings a putter on an arc where the face opens and closes. It's straight back then straight through the ball and followed through towards the target. Every putt is a straight putt with the proper power.

YOU BETTER OFF ACTUALLY DANCING! Just gotta “gallop “ horizontally to the left with a little salsa hips, not kidding at all Look up the “Gangnam style” dance for a rough reference this circler continuous jump with mini hops left to right puts every thing into correct timing and sequence it’s incredible! To make it nearly identical to golf form you just need to your jump hops off left foot, tap right foot, land back on left foot repeat while moving horizontally left. This also accomplishes the impossible timing of coiling up into backswing and dropping weight and head height like pros into your contact and then raising head to starting point on follow through. JUST GALLOP!! If you can follow this at all body movement wise I swear to you it’s a light bulb epiphany moment for your swing

Brilliant vid Stephen. I assume the 'arch' is not inclined at the shaft plane angle to emphasize the vertical nature of the swing away? My question:: in order to achieve the more vertical pitch of the shaft, the hands and handle will be set higher than normal at set up and the wrists arched. Is that correct? Can you steer me to any other of your vids on that 45 degree direction of the away swing please. Regards, Bill

Its ALL about smash factor... At 50 years of age, I can still swing a club at 115 MPH+ and up tp 124 with a max effort (and yes, I can actually do this). However, my longest drive this season is only 292 yards (with a tail wind no less!!!) My average is only about 240-270. Why? I rarely hit the center of the club face. When I use Trackman™ smash factors are usually sitting around 1.33 to 1.38. That doesn't add up to a 300y drive... 115 x 1.38 = 158.7 ball speed 😕

This particular piece of advice was really geared to the worst of golfers. There is so little substance here for golfers who have some basic common sense and experience in this game.

For short putts, shorten the stroke to 1-3 inches backswing and 1-3 inches follow through keeping clubface square and exactly perpendicular to your stance. Address square, backswing square, contact square, follow through square. The short stroke makes it easier to keep square. So just pop in the 5 footer. If it misses and goes by 3 feet, pop that one in same method. This method is so reliable that even with an occasional miss, you know you have a high probability of making the next putt with same technique.

I've found out that I get good results using a slightly stronger grip for irons than for the driver. I'm thinking that it helps me square the clubface earlier on the irons since the ball is further back in my stance. The stronger grip for a driver swing makes me meet the ball with a slightly closed face, but a slightly weaker grip allows me to meet the ball square when the ball is on the tee, Does that make any sense? It's working, so I'm going to keep doing it. Until I watch another video, that is. 😄
