The tip of rolling the pipe allowed me to connect the pipe in 5 minutes. This followed a couple of hours of teeth gnashing, bleeding, swearing and sweating. Thank you for the tip!

I would like to purchase the tap fittings used in this video to connect to the magnehelic gauges. Any information to that end would be greatly appreciated.

Can you provide me with the model of the pressure gauge and the specification of the fitting in the transition pipe.

My first problem was trying to reuse the flex hose that got smashed up while moving houses. Once I followed the video steps with a NEW hose, everything worked perfectly. Lesson learned, do not re use a smashed up hose

Wish I had seen this before I spent over 70 bucks trying to find the correct oval to round adaptor. Good video nonetheless; I’ll keep it in mind in case this shit ass adaptor breaks.

Wait. Why are you selling vents with screens????

All flex hoses introduce collection points for lint. Don’t use them. Use sheet metal ducting with taped joints.

Some dryer tubing is plastic pipe. The elbows and head loss is much lower with that.

Too bad they don't make a dryer vent with a 4" inlet and 6"+ outlet. Should remedy some of that back pressure without reducing volume flow.

I just installed the Inovate DryerFlex that I purchased from Amazon. I used an actual wooden rolling pin to straighten the ends which indeed helped. I did NOT make the cuts in the ends as recommended here, as the DryerFlex is just aluminum foil covering a coiled galvanized wire; cutting through the wire in the ends would have left only the foil keeping the ends attached and would have greatly weakened the connections.

What I saw is that he rounded the numbers up for the other vent caps, and rounded down for his product. Also, I noticed that he used both hands to completely surround where the product meets their test pipe. It seemed like he was manipulating the results (to some degree) by allowing more or less air into the various roof caps. I used to work as a design engineer for a company that makes supermarket and restaurant equipment, most of which have forced air ducts within them. I also used to work in the R&D of these products. I know for a fact that any length of ductwork and certainly any redirecting of the air causes back-pressure, and therefore, a pressure drop. Why not just say whatever the truth is, something like: our products have 75% less pressure drop than the competition?

I didn't really have issues getting the hose onto the annoying oval pipe. Didn't have to cut or make any adjustments to the vent hose. I did however have to rig a clamp as the round clamp would not bend or open enough to apply it. It came with the vent tension clamp. The flexible hose fit snug and didn't budge when I tugged on it however it didn't have a complete seal as it's round and the wall pipe is oval so I just used zip ties til I can get aluminum tape. Personally if a complex is going to do something like this they should provide any adapters or provisions needed to make it easier on our budget because the tenant did not request nor was informed of this issue

@rickymeadows5176 Жыл бұрын
He is exactly correct on the Foil hose, that crap should be outlawed ! In a dryer fire, it will act as a chimney pulling the flames through the duct till it catches fire itself AND IT WILL IGNITE AND BURN ! That foil ducting almost caught my first floor subflooring on fire during a dryer element fire when a high temp thermocouple went bad on our dryer ! Saving 50 bucks is not worth your family pets or house !

The amount of time I wasted yesterday on installing one of these was ridiculous. Very surprised engineers have not considered the thought of offset ID’s. Tubes should be 1/8” larger ID without the need for these hacks.
