@@1chish .. "cd"? .. "fellah"? .. haha, talk about living in the past 😉 Yet another HS2 fanboy who can't come to terms with the truth. Most of your beloved project has been scrapped & what's left is nothing more than a shuttle route between west London & Birmingham that only the elite will use. And don't forget the blatant corruption within HS2 Ltd that's recently been exposed. Senior executives shredded documents & used misleading projections to ensure billions kept flowing into the project. Employees claim they were told by bosses to lie about the project’s cost & were sacked after speaking out. They say the government wasn't informed of the real cost of HS2 for years, all while voting on laws that approved its construction. It's nothing more than a monstrous white elephant that 85% of the public are against. HS2 Ltd state that to "break even" with a subsidy of 50/60% , they require 600,000 passengers travelling between London & Birmingham DAILY. Given that passenger numbers on that route have been declining by 4% per year for the last decade & now stand at an average of 96,000 per day, perhaps you'd care to explain where the extra 504,000 are going to materialise from? The public have been lied to from day one of this disastrous project & the sooner it's consigned to the history books, the better

That nice old building is the former Curzon Street railway station entrance and offices etc. HS2 propose to refurbish it and incorporate it in some way into the new terminus station for the railway. The big bare patch around the old building is where the new station will go. What they are doing at present is building the viaducts incoming to the station - the line branches into several near the canal to allow trains into the various platforms.
