I love this ending

Seen this Great Movie many times , this is the 1st I've ever seen this different ending .

This was one of my favorite movies. I think they decided to release the correct ending to it. This ending is sappy and common place. The one they released had the right mixture of sentimentality and humor that matched the rest of the movie and was the perfect capstone.

It’s probably just me but there’s something about the face of the man that played Adult Walter that reminds me of Glenn Howerton.

There are still great men, still evil people, and people who have the courage.

Some people DO live lives like that, even now. And things like honor, integrity, truth, and toughness are traits ever so needed in today’s world. Those traits never go out of style.

One of the best movies ever made of all time. Great acting, great story line, and like a lot of the older movies it made you fall in love not only with the story, but the actors as well. Thank you for sharing the 2nd ending as well.

This ending is awesome too, like the other one. My dvd of this is very well used. I had to get a new player a couple of times.

I am grateful that they didn't use this ending. I like the Sheik showing up in the helicopter. Perfect ending!!!

I have always enjoyed watching this movie due to the combination of comedy and tear-jerking drama. This is the first time I have seen this version of the ending that unfortunately ended on the cutting room floor. I submit this would have been a better ending having Walter eulogizes his uncles with his wife and sons by his side. The French Foreign Legion and the Sheik closed the circle “they really lived!” Respectfully, It is for this reason that I really like this ending better than the one broadcast.

Love how he kisses his wife and holds his sons. I love my beautiful Italian supermodel wife Mrs Tina and I'm so proud to have her as she has blessed me with a son. I love you Tina ❤

In my wildest dream,can't imagine why this ending was edited out of the theatrical verson because it ties up all the loose ends.Seems like those who edit films never watch the whole thing,to realize the essential parts they're cutting out.Shame.

I like this ending, but I will remove the truck with the horses and the old Sheikh, and instead use the rest of the theatrical ending: the helicopter with the Sheikh’s son and grandsons, along with the story at the end about how they find out that all the stories were true.

I introduced this movie to my Father after watching it. As I told him about it he said he never seen or heard of it so I brought it for him. At the time it came out it was a VHS tape and I still have mine! Loved it!

God help me, I remember this full ending and I'm crying as much now as I did then. I love this movie.

I grew up watching this film and to this day love it to death; I have to say I love both ending very much and would have loved to have seen if they could have combined them in some way. However, since that is not possible, I will continue to enjoy it as is.🥰

I love this movie. Everything about it is spectacular, but I wonder just how hard Michael Caine had to work to get that Texas accent down. That is amazing for a guy who really has a cockney accent!

This has been one of my favorite movies since I saw it many years ago. I’ve watched it many times. The continuing story he told the boy, was so interesting. I do not feel it was promoted very well, it deserves a watch. I’ve recommended it to many people.

Other than seeing Walt's family, I like the theatrical ending better. Not only him meeting the sheik's son & grandson (and them reminiscing together about the stories), but also Walt's reaction to seeing the plane sticking out of the barn like that. Him saying "I always knew that damn airplane would get 'em." just doesn't fit as well as him chuckling about it with the sheriff.

This movie always breaks my heart. Robert Duvall looks just like my uncle and I’m this film acted just like him. Makes me sad…miss him so much.

While I prefer the theatrical ending, it was neat seeing the alternate ending. This is still one of my favorite movies. I introduced my Daddy to it a few years before he died. He loved it as much as I did.
