Best burn test presentation I’ve seen so far! I now feel I can confidently say the 50 yds of fabric I bought for $75 at an estate sale that was labeled “silk” is indeed silk! 🥰

Helpful particularly a blend. I have a number of fabrics decades-old trying to identify, pin down so to speak what they consist of. (Hindsight of course teaches me write it down when purchased and attach you idiotツ) I realize this was some time ago but would really appreciate additional sampling of various blends in this format - observations and Visual Evidence.

We have very little material, no elastic, now no thread in our area. I wonder if you could use old brassiere straps, sort of looks like.

If like me, Armo Weft was a new one and maybe unlikely to be found in local store, I found the equivalent by Pellon is called Ultra Weft. They are both fusible weft-insertion interfacings.

I can't quite understand what the name of the weft you are bonding to the leather. Can you post the name of the product please?

Thank you so much for this definitive burn test guide. I have confirmed that my silk is truly silk. Other guides to testing were not nearly so clear and easy to follow.

Love Matiaea for a simple summer dress. I have been thinking about using this fabric with Simplicity 1101 for one of the granddaughters.
