If you complain about a sport bike's acceleration, you're riding it wrong. They're not meant to go from 1st to 4th gear in like 4 seconds from a stop light, they're built to redline. If you need to accelerate, drop a gear.

Did you ride with a second passenger? how does the bike handle with a second passenger and what is the maximum speed at which he can ride? :) Thanks!

One of the greatest videos for everyone who wanna knows more about the bike. Most ppl make reviews and then drop the bike out. But this guy here lives with it and knows exactly the specifications of it. I completely agree with the advantages you mentioned. Could you please say in km/h what was your max speed? I know this thing makes max 180 km/h Thanks! :)

I live up in the sierra nevadas and ride a cb500f everyday, go on a 250 mile ride in the twistiest to see friends every weekend or so. This thing is plenty fast for anything except a multi lane freeway. I’m not even wringing it out most of the time and I’m still going way faster than I probably should be. Super nimble yet planted. Even with the heavy throttle half the time I’m still getting 70mpg overall. Great bike for backroads,cities and the occasional freeway.

Just got mine yesterday and I love this thing already, it's so amazing. Def feels like an amazing beginner bike, I got the 2023 model new, and I can't get over how beautiful it looks.
@WeeFreeMan784 ай бұрын
People who rate this bike as a "beginner bike" are beginners themselves. I've been riding for over 30 years, mainly adv and full enduro bikes. I rode this and most of its class competitors and they are plenty enough for a public road. Faster than almost 95% of cars you'll meet, they handle absolutely amazing in the twisties, they brake as they should and they are comfortable for everyday use and long trips. I was never a hooligan on paved streets where you have an insanely large amount of idiots and nut jobs around you so 500s are more than I need. Aaaand, I know quite a few riders who would ridicule 90% of dudes riding their badass 1000s where it really matters. So there's that 🙄

Sounds ideal - except for the price. Surprisingly economical on fuel I've heard. Better than a CFMOTO 450.

If you get 250 or 300 cc as beginners bike, yes, it maybe easier to handle but you'll get bored in few months and want to get bigger bike. 500cc seems like a good balance that it is beginners friendly enough and also powerful enough that you won't get bored in few months

It’s slow because it’s a slow bike. Had a 2019 cbr500 and for two days it was cool, after it’s like ketchup pouring. Bought a 21 gsxr600 new and it’s lightning on two wheels for me on the track. 90% of my riding now is on track and it’s amazing. Makes the cbr500 feel like a moped

I put 10k miles on mine last year. My only regret is not getting the 650. After so many miles I’m ready to upgrade. Just can’t beat 4 cylinder sound and rpm’s. I want a 600, but using my bike as a daily driver in summer, it’s not practical. Plus insurance is pain

Lovely video, helped a lot! But what is your opinion on the Honda CBR 650R. Im pretty much of a beginner and only had an very old 125 (max. 60mph). Now I really wanna start driving a lot more and I just can't decide wether I buy a 500R or a 650R. Is the 650R a good beginner aswell? I am a bit concerned about it being too powerful/heavy for beginners.
@jamesballard65647 ай бұрын
Start with the 500. It's stable and not too powerful. The 650R can be your next step up. It's mild for a 4-cylinder but way too much for a newbie.

The bad, you would have to spend a TON!!!! of money just to get them race ready. The suspensions wouldn't be the issue, it's the motor.

Ill say, Any fool can ride fast in a straight line and that's just thrill seeking , those car drivers who buy a bike and Drive it like a Supercar, just coz it's supercar performance at less than hot hatch prices , they aren't riding their bikes, they abusing them. So yes, if you want to live long and learn roadcraft, like DanDanTheFireman says, positioning on the road and observation and you don't need to be speeding to enjoy your Ride. Something like an XSR or MT07, these latest 650 twins have enough performance to keep you safe if you have to squirt out the way of someone attacking your rear. I ride a Liter Bike but i also take narrow roads, canyon twisties, lakeside Twisties at gentler speeds, that's when im riding my bike. Cutting down long distances tucked behind the fairing like a bullet does require conscentration and while the bike parts are all doing what they were designed to do , i cant dose off or zone out, i still have to be observing well ahead and expectant of other road users movements. The Riders that only do 50-80mph won't comprehend the conscentration required to stay focused at twice their speed. And someone doing 210mph is going 3 times your speed, that's why every road user needs to check their wing mirrors before changing lane. But to come back to Lation , that's like a workout at the gym, not enjoying a leisurely ride or appreciating motorcycling pleasure.
