I have a same bird, smaller than the one on the video, I let it out every morning and he is fed by its parents but unfortunately there is a dog near my home who keeps an eye on him and tries to find him alone, the dog also killed one of its brothers, the bird does mini flights but I do not understand when should I let it free, so that it does not roam on the ground and stay high on the branches. When did you leave your bird?

How on earth did that happen, I'm almost in tears. He looks old enough for solid food now.

Really fantastic job of raising. Looks strong, feathers not gunked up etc. I ve raised dozens of them as well as other birds, now I just take them to the Animal rehab. I did hand raise a Diamond dove a couple of years ago. It was like a flying puppy. Now it lives in an aviary and has raised many young but it's still quiet tame.

Beautiful job, you are the only one here on youtube feeding a baby dove correctly. Let the dove do the work. Don't do the work for the dove or it will aspirate. How is she doing? I have a 2month old and she's almost ready to say good bye. I rescued her from a crow attack. Her two siblings were killed and her father was injured. The crows came back everyday 2 to 3 times looking for her. I had maybe 20-30 seconds to climb two ladders and then reach into a tree and rip out the nest. On my way back down the crows returned and dove at my head. Well ever since this happened my life has been put on hold. She was only 3 days old when I rescued her. . I'm scared, I don't think she can out fly a hawk. We have 2-3 new young hawks in the area so I'm so nervous to let her go on her own. She won't leave my side when I have her out of her cage.
