My father would often put on this song when I was a little child. To this day I don't understand a word of the lyrics but I vaguely remember someone telling me it had something to do with cockroaches. This song will always remind me of our old flat and the large wooden wardrobes old enough to be a secret doorway to Narnia. Of my parents smiling down at me from their seemingly enormous height. Of sunlight passing through the white curtains and landing on the floor in squares of gold. Of the smells of paint and first flowers that tickled my nose and let me know that spring came.
