This is great, really interested in buying a 19x because my hands are just a little too big for the 19. Has it been confirmed these allow the 19x to pass the CCP box test? It’s my most interested division to compete in.

It's a tight fit with standard height sights, but it fits. If you have any kind of higher sights though, it might be a problem. Have been making these for some years now.

Some additional points or corrections: - the bolt catch and release is fully functional, which is not always the case with 22 versions of larger caliber guns - the charging handle can be switched to the right side - the weight is similar (a little less) to the 9 mm version

Thanks a lot! Try a search for jetloader there are quite some sources where one can get it. It needs some adjusting to work with the Rhino. So far it seemed to be the fastest way to reload. But it takes some trial and error.

I have been shooting Steyr pistols in Idpa for years. Started with the A1 and then the A2 when they came out. They are amazing pistols. The triangle sights are extremely fast and very very accurate. I have put over 40 thousand rounds thru my Sterys combined. And they are very reliable. Make sure to remove and clean the extractor and channel occasionally.

Sorry, accidently removed the comment asking for what the average weights are. So, I recommend minimum 2kg. For the movement exercises, I use up to 6kg. Strength exercises in HIIT, you need to keep going for 40-60s, so moderate weight in order to do it correctly. Isolated strength, one can go higher, doing 10-15 reps.

Hi, I just bought set of free from your site. I have few questions though :) How much it actually saves in height (in mms)? So how much thinner are your basepads in comparison to stock? And how much space does it leave you in a box? I assume you are using factory tritium sights for 19x. Also how high are sights (measuring from slide to top of the notch?) - I am asking, because I wonder if slightly taller notch (Dawson Precision .225 inch (5.715mm)) will fit with your basepads and those sights :)
@dobrealboniedobre4406
@dobrealboniedobre4406 Жыл бұрын
Ok, I just got them from postman, they give roughly 1.5 mm savings (1.5mm thinner) - with higher notch it still might not work
@swissaaa8747
@swissaaa8747 Жыл бұрын
Thank you and sorry to not answer earlier. It's a tight fit with the stock sights. So if you go any higher... it probably won't fit anymore.

What surprised me the most is that you got one with a safety. Even with the S,C,M and L A1 Series pistoles the ones with those safeties were rather rare. I never even saw pictures of a A2 with the safety (not even on Steyrs european homepage) so i thought they cpmletely ditched that option.

Thank you! I shoot many different guns, depending to the division I am starting in. I have the most experience with the HK VP9 - from carrying to sports shooting competition - it's really hard to beat in reliability and consistent performance. Even after many ten thousands of rounds. However, would love to try the Shadow Systems in a competition soon!

Great video! How stiff is the recoil spring? That is, how difficult is it to rack the slide back, apart from the fact that you have to be precise with your grip as you mentioned in the video? Thank you!
@swissaaa8747
@swissaaa8747 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The force of the recoil spring is comparable to other, similar 9mm pistols. I don't find it especially hard or soft. The Steyr has a low bore axis and therefore, the slide is not very high. The low slide is somewhat more difficult to grip when racking it in a hurry of course. That's something that one can see with similar designs such as the Arsenal or even the CZ Shadow. Examples of very grippy slides would be the HK VP9, Walther PDP or the Beretta APX. The advantage of a low bore axis is less muzzle flip but it comes with the disadvantage of less grip area on the slide. I like the design of the Steyr quite a lot.
