I've used TW Ceramic on my windows. I always see a slight film the next day that I buff out pretty easily. It works pretty decent. However, I used to use TW Ice on my windows and customers windows and got lots of compliments on how well it worked. It lasts longer than Rx and TW Ceramic spray. It can be a little tough to buff out in the sun on darker windows as it steaks on hot surfaces. I imagine the TWCS is similar since I've had issues applying that on darker vehicles in the sun. Bottom line is I prefer the Ice for windows and apply in the shade.

Do you have any other mods done to the truck? Or you achieved that sound with just the intake? Sounds great!

That's the intake and a NiceCNC VTA plug. it's a 3 minute install that vents the air from the recirculating pipe to the atmosphere. The whoosh is the intake, the pssst is the VTA :)

Ive had this on my 2020 2.7 for about a year and 1/2. Have had zero problems with it. Sounds amazing each and every time i drive my truck.

I love it mine. I get a little nervous when I drive in heavy rains, but I've never had any issues. The only negative i've noticed is about a loss of 1mpg or so in economy, which I thought was strange because most of these tout an increase in economy. I usually chalk it up to more "spirited" driving so I can hear those beautiful whirly-bois sing.

Any other mods besides the intake? The blow off sound aggressive.
@zero_garage Жыл бұрын
@@leecarter2768 I have a NiceCNC VTA plug from Amazon. The blow off is definitely audible, but the intake sound is pretty intense. You really start the hear induction around 1700-1800 RPMs and it's very loud around 3k. Honestly, it sounds like a massive boost leak, but in a good way. I have a couple GoPros and a case with a mod for a microphone - I'll see if I can rig something up that won't just sound like a bunch of wind across a crappy phone mic.

Can you try the invisible glass hybrid ceramic rain repellent & glass cleaner it’s made by stoner
@TheTom2video Жыл бұрын
Great job on comparing both products. Hard to tell the difference. You may want to try this on the windshield and drive it in the rain. I’ve tried them on my windshield. The rain-x rolls off faster than the turtle wax ceramic spray coating. My opinion: rain-x for glass and turtle wax ceramic spray coating for the cars paint finish. That’s what I use. Both of them are great products. Like the old saying “Don’t fix it if it’s not broken “ in other words Rain-x for glass and turtle wax ceramic spray coating is for the cars paint finish. End of the drill !!!
@zero_garage Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I did end up replacing RainX, but not with the TW ceramic. Instead, I now have a wax (Gyeon Q2) as a last-stage protection and I use Beadmaker over the whole truck (including the glass) on every wash, which is generally 3-4 times per month. I can't tell a difference between Beadmaker and RainX in practical scenarios. I think my original goal can be achieved, which was to simplify my wash and reduce time and the number of products needed. The difference is, I didn't replace it with Turtle Wax, rather with P&S Beadmaker. If you haven't tried Beadmaker, you definitely should.

I'm curious if either of them causes windshield wiper chatter. The rain-x tends to do that for me

I didn't experience any chatter with either product. I've been using Bosch Icon blades since this test. I recommend them highly.

Ive used rain x since 1997. If you don't test this in real life it doesn't matter. There are so many different variables. I haven't tried the ceramic but I'm going to. Of all the rain x brands, you have to have the original. You have to build up coats. That rain x in the video is garbage. I'm not insulting the youtuber. You also have to use the orange rain x washer fluid. Anything else will smear. I've had a lot of Wipers driving 400 miles a day for over 20 Years but I got nothing on those. Original rain x works best when windshield is completely dry. If you just pull into the pumps to apply during precipitation it's not the most efficient. Just a quick synopsis. I could go on.

@@jasoncessna2522 I've used RainX for nearly 20 years. This was intended to be a "real world" example with a follow-up video, however, I thought it would be handy to check for immediate differences. Like I said in the video, after immediate application the results are basically the same. The differences are imperceptible except TW smells better and feels much slicker to the touch. Neither of those are of any significance. I did follow-up with a message noting both products were "weak" after approximately 14 days, and, TW had developed a pretty gnarly film that caused me to have to clean and buff the window again. RainX lasted about 30 days. (I filmed a second video but the audio was awful and fraught with cracks and static, so I didn't edit it together). Another point, the product I'm using literally says "RainX Original" on it, I'm sure you meant the smaller bottle that looks like a lighter fluid container, but I ran out of that. It's also not necessarily relevant since I'm comparing the two products directly to each other. The whole point of the video was meant to determine, all factors considered, if you could same time and money by using one product at the end of a wash instead of having to perform a normal wash and dry, then take an additional step to treat the windows. In this example, if you wash your vehicle in less than 14 day intervals you probably could save the time and money on RainX (with the caveat of the film the TW leaves after a few hours). In my real-world case I did just that, except the product I replaced RainX with was P&S Beadmaker. I use it as a drying aid and a last-stage protection so It fits well into my routine and allows me to remove a product from my ever-overflowing detailing cart. I suppose I could examine Beadmaker vs RainX, however, I still only have the "garbage" formula on hand. Anyway, thank you for watching the video and taking the time to respond.

@zero_garage3 жыл бұрын
I did film a comparison video, but the audio was terrible. The basic rundown is the they both went weak after 14ish days, RainX held on longer, but was basically depleted by about 30 days. The thing I find most interesting is the TW ceramic leaves a bit of a film a day after you applied it that needs to be buffed out. After this test, I've been applying beadmaker as a drying agent when I wash the truck, which is weekly and that seems to be enough for me to remove RainX from my routine. I also stopped using the Turtle Was ceramic because the film is very annoying. It could be a side effect from something else on my paint's surface but my wife's car (2021 Rogue) does it too, and that we bought brand new and didn't have a coating the first time I applied it, so I just think its how the chemical works.
@greeneggsandham4273 жыл бұрын
@@zero_garageThat film could be detrimental if it were applied on the front windshield. Was the process of removing the hazy film from the glass afterward more difficult than when freshly applied or say harder to remove from glass compare to removing it from paint. Appreciate you taking the time out to do this!!! Been wondering about this for awhile.

@@greeneggsandham427 sorry so late, for some reason I didn't get any notifications about messages on this channel. Anyway, the haze wasn't difficult to remove, but it was pretty annoying to have to wipe the car/windshield a few hours later. I tried it a few more times on my truck and my wife's car, each time it was the same thing. I will say, in an effort to not waste any product or money I finished that bottle of TW Ceramic on my wheels. It worked very well as a wheel coating. That's not really the purpose of the video, but, I was surprised at how well it did at keeping my wheels clean versus keeping my windshield hydrophobic. I still use beadmaker to this day, it never depletes completely because I use it as my drying aid so it's applied at every wash (about every 10-12 days).
