Manuval Nasreen is right. Messi should learn English. Spanish may currently be 2nd in the world as the most spoken language but English beats Spanish as the most spoken language on the internet. Also England is known to have the best and most richest football clubs so Messi learning English will benefit his career and his marketing. Furthermore a lot of Messi's teammates from Argentina have moved from La Lega to English Premiere League such as Tevez, Zabaleta & Aguero Kun. Messi was real close with Zabaleta and is real close with Aguero (their definitely best friends). Oh and yes, hes teammates had to learn English. Zabaleta has become fluent in just about a year!

He didn't say anything offensive about Denmark, he Just said that he does not know anything about the Denmark national team (then the journalists start laughing) after that he said that Denmark might'll be a surprise in the world cup (the journalists laugh again) and inmediatly Messi says that he is talking seriously and the journalists laugh again, that's all, nothing offensive. So? You actually expect, that a small country like Denmark can qualify to EVERY WC and EC again and again? Look at the last 25 years. You won't find a similar nation in this very world, who has participated in so many EC/WC as DK has. You can triple the population, and you still won't find another country with the same results. England hasn't even won the EC. DK finished 2 in the qualify group, with teams like Bulgaria, Italy and Czech. DK is just unlucky, that other groups were a walkover.

He doesn't need to speak english because he has played and lived in Argentina and Spain his entire life, and also because he's very busy being the best player in the world and has no time to learn anything else, except football language, and that language is universal. I don't know what's your obsession you white-rich-eurocentric fans expecting that foreign athletes speak "the international language", most of the players are youngmen comming from poor families, they're not intelectuals, they just know how to play football, and they're the best at it, they need to keep their level and that's why they just train, train and train. Most of the people from spanish speaking countries haven't money enough to travel around the world, that's just a white-rich-eurocentric people's business, I'm pretty sure that if Messi or Villa do it, they have enough money to pay a translater. By the way, if you travel to latin american countries and you just speak spanish, they will understand you perfectly, because that's their native language, the world is not just Europe, you eurocentric fool.

Probably because english is not taught correctly at school in Latin America as in other parts of the world. Here if you don't learn it in a separate institute you can barely mumble a few phrases. Besides spanish is one of the most spoken languages so you can easily get by speaking only "la lengua de Cervantes"
