Try to hunt a sambar with your bare hands 🤣 you are so useless that you can't beat a kid in fare fight. Sambar deer doesn't belong to you fools It is native to India

Love the captions you’re putting on the vids these days. A bloke can actually learn a lot from your tips. Very informative. My local SF has fallow and a few reds but also a lot of traffic making the deer very hard to find. I’ll take all the tips I can get haha

I think naming the gatta with its open plains, tracks and river crossings heading in then on top of that a 4wd behind closed gates is a fair bit different from naming places that obviously vehicles can’t get to and could be numerous places in the ANP. Anyone who has travelled through the Alpine or watches 4wd KZbin knows that’s the gatta.

Hi, I just got a Howa Superlite 308. Before I shot mine, I heard you had to let the barrel cool between shots to get your minute of angle groups. I did with mine and my gun did fine. Did you notice how your gun shot the first 2 shots fine , then through the 3rd shot. To get the best out of my rifle and see what it could do, I let mine cool between each shot. With a deer and a 308, you probably won’t need more than 1 shot anyway. If you have to go to a third shot, he will most likely be running anyway. If you get shot number 3 and he’s still standing there, he deserves to live anyway and you should spend more time at the range 😅

A rifle is a affective tool to make an ethical kill. A thermal removes the animals ability to remain undetectable in cover. We have to draw a line with technology and this is definitely where it should be drawn. We can argue about rifle, bows and spears but really 🤷. What's next if thermals are accepted? Drones with thermal ? Don't leave camp until you fly over and find the deer first! We must put more emphasis on fair chase and ethical hunting otherwise we will become known as cullers not hunters which removes the animals status as a game animal which in turn removes hunting opportunities
@waynecoombe-heath943020 күн бұрын
Love your respect for the animals you hunt mate. Hunting deer with a thermal is just admitting to everyone that you are apathetic human and an even worse hunter

Mate, cought the Sambar bug when I was in my early teens, fifty six next birthday. Mates n I hunt the same as you do, but meat hunters, antlers a bonus. Have them on my doorstep, but love the big country. See plenty when on my horse, he points like a bird dog when onto one. Love watching your clips. Same ethics as I preach. Your a true Sambar hunter showing total respect to an amazing animal, and the country they live in.

Don't get me wrong mate I'm an older hunter naturalist but we tread a fine line when we show off what we do whether it be steering more interest where we hunt or giving other party's reasons for giving us a bad name for instance your attracting more hunters to your areas and you don't touch wild dogs before you know there will be less deer and farmers won't give you the time of day
@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures24 күн бұрын
Hey Scott, just so you have all the information. Nearly all the areas I hunt are Victorian Alpine national Park. The only animal your legally permitted to hunt/kill is deer. If I were near farm land and in State forest I have no issue with your thoughts on the Dingos. To me these were Dingos no wild dog, 2 completely different animals. I don't see Dingos as a risk to farms this deep into the vhc.

Hey mate. I know you like your light weight equipment have you heard of Aziak equipment. I use them they are great tripods for back country. I would like to send you a tripod to demo. If you’re interested let me know.
@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures25 күн бұрын
Hey mate, no never heard of the brand. What's lightweight to some is heavy to me. What weight is the tripod?
@perfectzero.25 күн бұрын
Weight is critical on backcountry hunts; tripod legs weight in at 20.4 oz (with long center column) or 18.9 oz (with the included short center column), well below any other offering currently available with all these features. A max height of 45" gives you more than enough room for sitting while glassing with room to splay the legs out on steep hillsides. 3 section design means you get larger diameter carbon tubes over a 4 or 5 section tripod, giving higher stability to weight ratio. Triangular center column means the tripod can fold together tighter and take up less pack space. Quick one finger adjustment to 3 different leg angles, allowing you to get just the right setup on any terrain. Oversized center column locking knob for ease of use with gloved hand. Oversized rubber feet for grip on all surfaces. Collapsed length of only 15.5" (legs only) *Note: Tripod includes both the long and short center column, but the Ball Head is sold separately*

Think Thermals have their uses where animals need to be culled on private land ,but definitely no place in fair chase public land hunting , great trip , shame Kev didn't get onto one of those Stags but would have to be happy with the experience, bet he will be back from Qld, interesting watching the interaction of deer with the dogs, I think being a fishing or hunting guide is hardest job going and when it comes to guiding on Sambar turn that up by 150%
@ZebrasSambarhuntingAdventures25 күн бұрын
I agree totally, yeah Kev had a ball despite not taking a stag. There's a reason no one else is guiding public land Sambar. It's ridiculously hard work. Not only to have success but also physically and mentally taxing.

Hi mate. Get yourself a good fold up light weight umbrella. You might feel gay but they are the best thing since sliced bread. You can bunker down while your out, you can keep glassing, you can even walk around with it. Even with your rain gear on it’s good to keep the rain from being directly on you
