Great job on one of my favorite tunes. I believe it’s by Richard Whiting, Margaret’s dad. Terry

A tuner will never make a nice nose ring. A capo, however, would be quite a statement.

Hullah? Wally Ballou for President! Go NASAL, not ORANGE! Um, try to avoid the Clorox cure. And do NOT vote Orange! MORE IMPORTANT: I am deeply interested in that box you are are blowing. "Stephan Sontag"? I am on this like white on rice. CAN I AFFORD this box? It looks and sounds fine. Is it UNDER $30K?! (Collings has gone CRAZY). All I need is a Jazz scale (27.75"), 42mm nut, NO cut-a-way, one floating neck PUP, all solid wood, carved top and shellac or nitro finish. They sell a 7 string model? It allows you to play rhythm comp with great bass lines. I prefer no cut-a-way, as it affords MORE air in the box, thus, a more pleasing tone. This is why old 12 fret Martins sound better than modern 14 fret models. Lonnie Johnson managed to play GREAT lead on a 12 fret 00-21. I signed-up to play swing rhythm, hence, I rarely need more than 12 frets. If I cannot find the chord or voicing, I look again, a few frets lower. No problem. Oscar Moore is my pilot, but Bix is my soul. Cut-a-ways rob a box of TONE. BTW, you play well. I studied with Richard Lieberson for 5 years. I may suck, but I can sure as heck tell who does NOT suck. You, do NOT suck. -cheers. PS: I cannot drink as I am, um, allergic to alcohol. Seriously. Lord help me.

1946? Barney Kessel? Does any of your video's contain the story of how you obtained it?

Bruce -- I can't tell you how much I appreciate your "raw" and "cavalier" style of playing! In world of jazz guitarists who often go for too much precision at the expense of music, your uniqueness stands out all the more. You make MUSIC. Thanks so much for all your videos -- they're invaluable to us pikers!

That was great! I worked with Richie for a couple of years in Trenton, NJ. He put together his 8 piece thing and he needed a guitar player who could read his charts. I worked with him off and on when he would come back to town. Trenton was his hometown. So it was nice while it lasted. He also let me bring some of my own charts and encouraged me to keep writing. He was definitely one of my music mentors. I did a CD called, "For My Jazz Mentors" and he guested on the recording. One of the tunes he wrote is on it called, "NY Serenade" is on the CD. I appreciate you as a musician and your generosity in teaching. I have your book, "Solo Jazz Guitar Etudes". I'm workin' at it! 👍👍

A fitting tribute to Barney. Superb solo guitar. It sounds all-acoustic, yet I detect a jack plug in the socket.
