I love this song. It was even more amazing when Metallica covered it later. The scene of this graveyard is also too perfect. These talents create so many beautiful things

It seems to encapsulate desire, greed, desperation, ecstasy, regret, fear, frustration and so much more. It’s like Tuco is the ugly part of all people. Maybe that’s why he’s so enduringly popular.

Other than the music being completely epic, the symbolism of this scene is quite riveting- here we have a man running in circles around an empty and lifeless center, all in an attempt to find a gold treasure among the unliving... make of it what you want but Sergio Leone truly had a Kubrick moment in this scene

This whole movie is just brilliant. Tuco represents the UGLY-ness of greed. Angel eyes represents the BADness of cruelty. “Blondie” represents the choice of redemption and making the choice to make GOOD actions despite his cruelty and greed of the past. This scene is a satire of greed itself - Tuco is frolicking in his ecstasy of being about to find the gold to this EPIC soundtrack, only to be too dazzled by it to realise that if he’d been genuinely willing to work together with someone else and share the gains it would all have been easier but the whole mess he’s been in, all this flirting with death (symbolised by the graveyard) is because of his own greed. but ironically it’s the man with no name’s choice to put pure greed behind him that saves him in the end.
