I am not very good with modern engines. The Engine is a 4 cylinder turbo diesel 2.5litre. I have been told it was also fitted to some Ford Rangers. Engine is WL Turbo. Sensor is a Mitsubishi Pajero Shogun 3.2DID, V68/V78 00+. George

Hey guys, i have a question. Did u do any soldering at all on the new brass T piece, my issue is that im not getting any heat in the cabin or the rear and my top uose is crunchy and getting hard, the engine heats up normaly and sits between 10-11oc! Im going to need to remove the 2 hig hoses and clean them out along with the radiator! But have you ever changed the thermostat on the diesel bongo, i may need to fo that but looking for advice
@MakeDoAndMend1
@MakeDoAndMend1 7 күн бұрын
@Documenteiesoftheuk just a quick message. Petrol or Diesel on any vehicle when warm sits at around 70 to 83 Deg Centigrade. If the thermostat is jammed open or missing it will run too cool. There is a video on KZbin showing changing the thermostat but it's not mine. Sorry did you mean 10-11 degC or is it just left before vertical on temp gauge. Cheers from old George

It would be nice to know how to dim or brighten lcd display! Mine brightens when I hit remote then goes too dim. I saw another KZbin video and over time the LEDs in our displays age and get dimmer. The guy put in bigger led lights and that is way too complicated and extra work for me. I did tilt my display for the best view from where I sit most often....wrong tilt and you will see no display! I have not tried the new heaters with Bluetooth and phone apps but after using my tiny remote with the LCD display on my unit, I can see where a phone app or Bluetooth (depending on how they display information) may be a lot better. I thought the phone app and Bluetooth was a bunch of extra gadgetry and poo poed it because I am 62 years old and lived before all this computerization happened.

@tom-ehill2713 Hi Tom. Difficult one to answer. I have found that Ham Radio receivers from between 1970 to late 1980,s have become vintage and very collectable. A few years ago a Frg 7 was around £80 uk pound but now around £250. From Japan £500 upwards. The one in the my video was not repairable as too many people had a go at fixing it. So was sold as scrap. I have been looking for a RCA Ar88 or Ar77 but cannot afford prices they want. Cheers from old George in damp foggy uk. CORRECTION JAPAN £700 or more on Ebay

George, i bought one of those cables. Only the "thicker side" has data, the skiny one is power-only. But if thats all you need: it'll work. Only recommendation i have: use some dielectric grease (non-conductive/corrosive grease) inside the USB plug to help keep the moisture out. Dielectric grease is cheap, worth avoiding the headaches. 73!

I think you are referring to a switch. This isn't a switch. It's a sensor. It's resistance changes with temp. The signal from this sensor goes to the control board. This board controls fan, glow plug heater, fuel pump etc. Probably by a microprosesser. I don't have a circuit diagram of how the control boards works. Cheers from old George. Thanks for watching.

I've had mine running at 11v. There's an high initial current about 10-15 a which pulls down the battery voltage due to losses in the cables in my system then it settles down to about 1/2 a at lowest setting. It's important all connections are good at those current levels to avoid IR drops.
