I'm teaching English in Guatemala. Spanish has 5 vowel sounds, English has like 20 something. Many of them are vowel-r sounds. This will be incredibly helpful. Thank you!

omg . lady u have saved my life, I'm a 20 year old girl from pakistan and here if someone cant pronounce something properly they're called as tootla, since i was young as far as my memory goes back i havent been able to pronounce it, everyone has made fun of me, friends, family relatives, at tmes i have the laughingstock of conversation bcz of not being able to prounce r properly, so much fun has been made of me, i hope this video helps me, I've been trying to follow the steps but the problem is i have trouble rolling my tongue halway backwards and not touching hte roof of my mouth, I'm gonna keep practicing ad i have a very strong feeling with this tuturorial of urs i will be able to say r properly with practice, thank u in advance

Ahaan. I can feel it. I am from Pakistan Too And I Am 20 Years Old. I have Same problem and waqaii mazaq bana k rakh detay Hain apke friends apke relatives waghera waghera.. and apko itna demotivate kr detay Hain k apko phr waqai Apne bolne me Shaq hone lagta hai aur ek to R word pehle se pronounce nai hota theek se aur upar se mazaq ki wjah se ab uncomfortable bhi hojatay Hain hum R bolte howay. Keep in mind we are best in our own way. Jo aisa kren unhe ignore kia kren. Actually yeh itna asaan hota bhi nai 20 years of life mene yeh Sab jehla hai me feel kr sakta k Kitna bura lagta hai. But ab I am living with this problem without any hesitation. Alhamdulillah

the settings would be different when you record a student. Could you explain this please? I use audacity to record my students.

Just watched this replay and it was so interesting!! I liked learning that the vowel /r/ that we work so hard on in English isn't a thing in spanish. How cool that it is CV and always initial.

My four year old spells words to the best of his ability sometimes to help us distinguish what he’s saying when we can’t tell because of R sounds. I have been concerned that his difficulty with R’s might be from his corrected tongue tie, but trying just three times to follow your lead he made a fleeting proper R sound each time! What a great technique!!!
